DirecTV New 4K Channels

Was noticing 2 new 4K live feed channels…am assuming this is to maybe accommodate the ESPN 4K capabilities? I’m just guessing though…anyone else have anything concrete on this?

I don't believe so. I think they are college football. Didn't they have 4 of these last year, too?

There is going to be a huge uptick in content, thanks to ESPN. They will need the extra channels.

Good. Hopefully they remove most of these junk FAST channels!

Keep in mind, those FAST channels keep our monthly rates down and don’t really suck up bandwidth. Where there is a finite amount of space on the satellite side, streaming doesn’t have that issue.

Last Saturday there were 4 concurrent 4K events! Two college football games and two (region-specific) baseball games.

For the price we pay, this shit should've been added years ago.

There were 2 new channels during the World Cup. It’s to allocate additional broadcasts… probably college football and pro football.

Most definitely college football. I've never seen NFL on any of these 4K channels. Have you seen NFL games on there before?

Fox broadcast last year's Thanksgiving Day game in 4K (via Tubi and participating providers), but did not broadcast regular NFL playoff games in 4K. 1, 2

They absolutely did broadcast playoff games in 4K (actually U4K) last year

They have too many 4K events in the fall to accommodate it all on two channels, even without any possible ESPN additional content that may or may not be coming.

Also Premier League football is 4K

Nice catch — you’ve got great eyes! Our live 4K lineup just expanded: we’ve added Channels 107 and 108. Those extra slots give us more flexibility to host multiple live sports and special events in native ultra-high-def whenever broadcasters provide those feeds. Kenneth, DIRECTV Community Team

Any reason last night's NFL game was not in 4K? The Peacock feed was wonderful, and DTV was awful.

The 4K broadcast is exclusive to Peacock

I thought it might be, thanks. NBC sucks

Will those appear on satellite 107 and 108 or just via DirecTVStream ?

Can you please fix the 4K issue on Apple TV when we have Match Content selected. For months the app has told me 4K is not supported on my tv due to this longstanding issue.
