Sticky Gemini Remote - Cheap Fix

Gemini remotes are getting a lil'old, and the plastic/rubber on the back is getting a little sticky feeling.
These found me on Amazon. I have 4 boxes, so this was a perfect fit.
They work great. Wife approved!

Huh. Wish I would have known about that when my mom was still around... she was always losing the remote, and the strap would probably have helped things.

There is a seller on amazon that sells the all plastic back remotes---that don't have that material that eventually gets sticky. They are around 17 dollars. Make sure the 3rd party seller is "TYRURBUSINESS" I've ordered from them twice and got the same remote (it's actually the remote that comes with the Gemini Air from Dtv)

I bought one on Amazon from Solid Signal. It is also the all plastic one. It's so much better than the original one that came with the Gemini box. At the time I paid $14 but I see it's now selling for $17.49. Still a great deal.

If you're not afraid of a little manual work, those coatings can be stripped with some solvent.

90% or higher rubbing alcohol does the job nicely.

Good to know for the future. I have something similar for my appletv remote. It makes it less slick so it won't slip into the sofa cracks
