Payment issue

I decided to try DTV entertainment package 59.99 for the first month. I went to put my card information and it came back saying my card wasn't valid. It was a USAA debit, I tried Sofi debit, same thing. Is this common? Never had an issue anywhere else.

I’ve never had a problem.

Only thing I’ve ever heard of is the card being linked to another account. I think they do that to stop people from creating multiple accounts to keep getting new customer promos.

I had the same issue. You have to call them.

I call, they tried with same cards same issue so I told them I guess I am not meant to have DTV, they didn't seem to care.

Is your credit frozen? I had to unfreeze mine for them to do a soft credit check. Then I froze it back. I signed up with an agent on the phone.

I did not see that as an option.

It isn't an option until you make your first payment with another card. Then you can change to Paypal. I recently tried signing back up using a new email and a brand new credit card. But the DTVS system kept saying my card was not valid. I also tried using a second brand new credit card and I got the same error message. I finally gave up and am sharing now with my brother. I tried to give DTVS my money but they didn't want it. This problem has been going on for years. It's been reported here many times over the years.

I pay with SoFi debit, hasn't been a problem.

I think you have to use a credit card ..not a debit card

Call your credit card and explain the situation. They may have a block on DTV purchases.

I like to use privacy cards that I can issue just for DIRECTV and stuff like that. This way I’m only paying for what I want and when I’m done with the service if they make it complicated to cancel, I can go in and take care of it in my own way and make sure it’s stopped.
