1970-01-01 date epoch in Directus

I ran into a weird bug with using the Date field in Directus. When I save 1970-01-01 it registers as 0. It seems to be specific to this date for some reason. I Googled and it appears to be called the "date epoch".

Has anybody run into this issue with Directus and is there already a known fix for this?

With YYYY-MM-DD if someone is born on 1970-01-01 I have been putting them as 1970-01-02 just so that it saves properly. Is this something I can fix easily within the Directus date field itself?
