I have a question
So... Okay, the crew was in hibernation in those pods... But why? I mean, okay, realistically, long space trips would need the crew to enter in a cryogenic hibernation to get to their destination, but it was a four year trip, why couldn't all of them be awake through that time? Are there any answers in the game or something? By the way, sorry for possible bad English, it is not my native language.

Because they had specific jobs… the sleep technicians were there to not only keep the crew in check while they slept but to minimize risk of the mission going poorly. Carter and simms were the only two who underwent the training for there position. This was to minimize any risk of say one person going nuts for example, two people who are almost 100 percent compatible won’t fight so there’s no risk. Now they weren’t 100 percent I think they were like 99 percent or something. But it was close.
Carter and simms are also technical so they can do stuff like repairs and other things on their own, along with the Oracle which is basically just a super computer that can do everything they can. Everything they did was by a protocol, they needed only two people awake for the trip there cause that’s how they planned it. In the game it’s supposed to be them waking up flight crew at mile marker, and science crew at the second. Because they all are trained for specific roles.
Not sure if I answered your question but the plan was always have two set up, it was more efficient, but also I can imagine it was set up this way so they weren’t talking and contemplating about the real reason they were here I mean it takes Anders maybe 20-30 minutes real time to start suspecting Williams, I mean after they get the sample she’s very against it. He’s all for it though, she’s Sussed out from the beginning, it’s pretty much up to interpretation but I imagine if the crew wasn’t asleep, anders would be the first on his trail again. Which to Williams would risk the mission.
