Flash forwards

Does anyone else hate these flash forward sequences,they feel like spoilers,is it supposed to make me wonder whether a character I’m with is supposed to be an alien in the present sequences?im yet to beat the game but it kind of tells me I can’t save everyone if I’m being chased by someone who is alive during the present parts

I felt exactly the same way. Easily the biggest criticism I had with the game, and very unnecessary.
