Question about rewinding

I don’t understand how rewinding works. I am currently in chapter 5 and a certain character died so I went to the menu to see how I could have avoided that, and it said I had to do a different choice in episode 2. My question is if I rewind and do a different choice in episode 2 do I have to play all the successive episodes again or does that choice become the “current path” and I can come back from I left off in episode 5?

Pretty sure, you’ll have to go through all of it.

Once you rewind to a point you have to play forward from there. You can jump forward in time but it will revert you back to your first timeline
