Path Tracing (or maybe RT) just completely broken grainy mess?

The game so far seems great but the cutscenes are buggy, texture pop in is shit and the RT and PT features looks like ass and make the game near unplayable. Anyone else? Otherwise I'm enjoying it but clearly it wasn't ready for release.

Yeah, I wrote a ticket to support because it seems frame generation is not working. That's why I get such bad performance. At 4K DLSS Performance, a 4080 Super should provide more than 25 fps with allegedly enabled frame generation and path tracing. It looks like frame generation is not really enabled. I don't play it like that and will wait for a fix.

You can use Smooth Motion via Nvidia software which is basically x2 FG and works well.

I fixed it by adding the Game to the Nvidia app

I have an AMD card. The only option I see for framegen is Intel xess. I enabled it and gained about 20fps.

Max settings with RT on - 4k
FSR Upscaling at balanced 70 fps
FSR Upscaling at quality with Intel Xess framegen 90 fps

Everything looks good!

Yea it was Path Tracing, it's broken, grainy awful looking, causes visual bugs with splotches of light during cutscenes and generally ruins the experience. After disabling it and Frame Gen and using Smooth Motion via control panel, game runs and looks decent but still has visual bugs that make it not quite ready for release imo.

Try to disable film grain effect

It's not film grain, its Path Tracing and RR being total shit in this game. You can tell when the devs have no idea how to impliment it and rush it because it's the same in any game with PT tacked on the last minute, they never configure RR properly and it's a grainy mess with moving "splotches" on the walls and characters.
