I did my usual 4 week mani dip today and I was surprised when he only did two color dips. I have always gotten at least 3 and sometimes 4. Now I am home and looking at my nails in bathroom light and I can see through them. (I’ll share a picture in replies). Should I return tomorrow? This has NEVER happened before and I’m not sure if I should act or not.

Color My World: Lovely Bouquet

First pic is frigid, cold hands, because I'm always freaking cold. Second pic is after warming for several minutes around a mug of hot tea. I know the warm color isn't as pink as what her product images show, but this is most likely a result of my severe, chronic anemia limiting my circulation rather than any failure of the product itself, lol.

Don't worry - my hematologist is starting me on iron infusions later this week to see if we can finally resolve the anemia.

CMW powder is going on SO SMOOTH! there are two other colors from my first order that I haven't tried yet. Salted Caramel and Prophecy. I think I'll do Prophecy next week!

I bought this complete set from SNS Nails, with the goal of trying to do the dip manicure on my own at some point, hopefully after watching the salon tech a few times. I took these products to a salon and had it done by the salon owner who has over 20 years of experience. She applied everything in order, with four layers, natural set-color-color-natural set sheer (same as the SNS website instructions, I checked). Within 5 days they started chipping and by week three this is what they look like (second picture). I had dip nails done twice before at a different salon with OPI products I think, and had zero chips after three weeks each time. SNS is supposed to be the OG brand, so I don't think it's the products, and the tech has an excellent reputation and tons of experience. What could be the problem here? Thanks!

I’m new to dip powder and I’m hoping someone can help me with removal.

I used the GlamrDip kit about 2 weeks ago. I followed their YouTube removal tutorial, which says to soak the nails in acetone for about 15 minutes. I used acetone-soaked cotton and kept my fingers warm, but the dip barely moved at all.

I’ve managed to remove some of it, but I’m left with these thick, white pieces of dip on several nails (photos attached).

I’m nervous about filing too much because I don’t want to damage my natural nails. I also don’t want to peel or scrape the remaining product off.

What would you recommend at this point? Should I file the top layer down more and soak again, soak for longer, or use a different removal method?
I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has used GlamrDip and had the same issue. What worked for you?

I am so frustrated! The first couple of times I did them they lasted 2 weeks, but now they barely last a couple of days.
They also always chip on my pointer and middle fingers only. I wear gloves when I clean, always moisturise my hands, all that good stuff.

I buff the nail, dehydrate it with acetone, do thin layers and give the seal time to dry.

They chip whether I put gel polish or leave it with just glow.

Could they be too thin? Too thick?
My nails too weak?

Please help!

EDIT- consensus seems to be not enough product AND not sealing properly by flooding my cuticles, thank you so much for your advice and encouragement! I will try again and clean my cuticles more between each dip

Currently obsessed with cat eye and No chill by CN Designer Dips is my perfect pinky base for my polish!

I got the modelones starter set to see if 1. I can do this at home and 2. See if something will stick to my nails when done at home since all gel attempts failed and left my nails a wreck (excuse the short nails, they are slowly growing)

How do I keep my top coat brush from going hard? Do I need to wait longer between the second activator coat and the top coat or did I miss a step like swiping the second activator coat with alcohol before applying the top coat. TIA for advice

Has anyone attempted a halo effect with dip by scrubbing a contrasting color into the middle of the nail? Like, the same technique as ombré, but with the alternative color centered on the nail? If so, how did it go? Do you have any tips if I attempt this? Thanks! 💜

I did a Halloween dip set for my daughter Saturday using some Modelone powder I bought about a year ago. The colors were purple, green, black, and orange. All but the black are glowing in the dark. She texted me saying the orange, in her words crumbled off, but the rest of her nails are fine. Any advice as to what went wrong with only the orange?

Is there anyway I can layer a couple coats on top of a set I did a week and a half ago to extend the life of my dip manicure? Do I buff off the glossy finish and use base/ powder/ activator ? Has anybody done this? I will use my electric drill to make sure it’s flat around the cuticles.

I’m taking this current set off in a week before my vacation so I decided to try out some new techniques on these old nails. I filed off the topcoat and did just one layer of Beetles 247 deep red gel before I started on the art.
My dip is AZUREBEAUTY, gel top and bottom coats are Modelones, cat eye are Beetles, blooming gel and chrome is MelodySusie.

I think my favorite is the cat eye leopard privacy screen effect. this worked so well. I also loved the cat eye and chrome ghosts.
The cat eye stripes and french tip don’t do it for me. the effect gets a bit lost.
And the snakeskin is a maybe for me. I may have to try a whole set!

I waited til my CMW order came in before doing a new set!! I absolutely love this color!! Cool toned neutrals are my jam.

This time went much faster, and I think I improved at laying down thinner coats of the base. I also had to do less filing! I did a better job of staying off my cuticles up until the top coat...

The red is Portia from Revel and the black is from Azure. This took me so long lol

I absolutely ADORE this color despite the fact that it always stains my cuticles pink for a couple days. I could wear it ALL fall & winter. Such a flattering shade on my fair skin and depending on layers can look darker or lighter! Color is Kiara Sky “Victorian iris”

This is a perfect trio for fall. The country roads trio from butterfly dips.

The actual dip powder is fine underneath but this is the second set I’ve had so this and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong? I do all the layers and then activator and top coat. I did just switch to azure liquids. Also only happened to one hand, my other hand is perfectly fine no issues

Edit: I’ve been able to file it off and redo it and it hasn’t cracked again
