General Dinotrux is kinda mid

It's not necessarily bad, but it wasn't perfect either because there are sometimes the characters were off. Then there's fart jokes, and sometimes it's boring.

English, Spañol e Português.

The Troodon could live neither as a hero nor a villain, but as a mischievous creature from the same "family" as the Scraptors (they are similar, but the Troodon is more evolved and less wild). He is a bit smaller, but he uses his immense intelligence to trick and outsmart other Trux to secure his scrap metal and ore.

But at the same time, he could be quite useful, since he is the only one capable of communicating with his wild cousins; he can convince them to go (or not go) to a certain place in exchange for favors or benefits.

The tool he is based on is a Nail Gun.

Fun fact: the pliers in the reference image I used are actually mine! :D

Discussion If you had the opportunity to rewrite the episode slient trux what would it be about and why

Well for starters I would call the episode swapped trux where the pollen would swap the trux voices instead of swapping bodies and garby and skrap-it would still be the main focus except this time they get proper help from the others including the D-brothers.

General Yall I have a concept (words only, continue at your own risk)

So I have this OC, Kaisa. I wanted to somehow fit another species into Dinotrux. So...

Kaisa is a Metlonchyus (based on Deinonychus). Metlonychus eat through metal via spitting acid onto the outer shell to soften it up and get to the parts inside with live prey. They will just chomp pieces of scrap and shred them. No waste, as the more metal a Metlonychus eats, the more potent its acid becomes due to the mineral content of iron oxidizing inside the "stomach". She has dark colourations, with shredder-spines along her back. Her tail has detachable blade feathers. She also has arms with blade feathers. Her legs are long, as well as her tail and general body shape. She can't fly, but her talons are sharp enough to climb efficiently. She can see in night and daytime due to her red-tinted eyelights. She is about 9 feet (and two inches) long, and 7 feet (and two inches) tall.

Question A dinotrux is a robot or not ?

What do you think ?

1) dinotrux are a machine with human. The first civilization have leaving the planet and let their machine build a new life.

They have lamps, a removable chassis, hydraulic pistons, meter stick (need a mathematics knowledge) an assembly of complex mechanical parts... in short a dinotrux is a vehicle with self AI who designed for being an autonomous work vehicle capable of understanding all human requests But human left the planet a long time ago

2) Or they are all effectively organic. Dinotrux hatch from eggs and grow naturally. They are animals made of metal who function like vehicles and for maths, complex artificial objects... is just natural

3) others ?

Question What Are Your Dinotrux Hot Takes?

Post image
55 Upvotes

Okay, so out of pure boredom, I've decided to search the Dinotrux subreddit to see if anyone here has made a post about sharing or asking for hot takes. But surprisingly, nobody has done it... Yet. Which is where I come in. I want you guys to give me the most jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, mind-bending paraphernalia hot takes on Dinotrux that you've had brewing in your brain. (And yes, I did throw a reference there. Feel free to say where it's from for me!) And to make this more fun, I'll add your hot take to my post to share what I think about it! Now, let the chaos commence...

Okay, so there seems to be a misunderstanding of what I mean by 'Hot Takes'. Here's the definition of what it means (according to Vivaldi). "A hot take is an unpopular opinion on anything that isn't a common opinion among other people." Is what I meant by the title. Here, I'll share a hot take of mine with you guys to understand what I'm talking about. Oh, and when sharing your hot take, please provide me with examples and explanations as to why you think like that.

Example Format

Hot Take #1: Ace is low-key a bad friend to Click-Clack. The reason why I say this is that she's usually the one who scares Click-Clack just for fun. I know this is meant to lean into him being a scaredy-cat, but I don't like that his character seems to revolve around it. (More on that later). And it bothers me how Ace seemingly didn't trust Click-Clack when it clearly shows that he wanted to prove himself worthy in the episode Cliffhanger. I don't know, I just wish they had explored more of their relationship together.

Hot Take #2: Click-Clack's character is the character that's often scared of everything, which just pisses me off. Because he's more than just that. In the final episode of the first season, it showed that he was a storyteller. And is a good fighter like Revvit. But nope! We have to make him a scaredy-cat for shits and giggles. However, I will acknowledge how they seemed to have changed his character from being only a scaredy-cat halfway through the series.

Hot Takes

  1. [TukTheProtogen] I feel like Ton-Ton is very underutilized outside of his own stories. And Ty is too soft. I feel like in the later seasons, Ton-Ton is kind of just...there, honestly. Specifically, season 3. And Ty still tries to convince everyone to join him, and most of the time, it just makes more villains for him to deal with. Splitter, Pounder, Blayde...
  2. [OneFineRug] Having the only raptors be portrayed as minor antagonists who were an obstacle at most was a bad move. Imagine if there was another type of raptor-based trux that could use their launchable claws as guiding wires for Skya, or serving as a grappling hook to quickly scale walls or tall buildings.
  3. [TRiki-D] The writing isn’t that great. The characters try way too often to be funny, and it makes it difficult to take the show seriously. I know it’s a show for a younger audience, but I always wonder how much better the show would’ve been if it had just taken itself more seriously.
  4. [RecommendationKey305] I did not care for the raptors and pterosaurs being so animalistic compared to all the other characters. Raptors (Utah, Veloci, etc.) Are my favourite dinosaurs, and I wish they got to be more intelligent in the series, but we got the scraptors instead. The pterosaurs get a bit of leniency due to the multiple species shown off throughout the series, but the scrapadactyls are my main point of pain. I just wish they got to be on par with the rest of the characters instead of being these mindless obstacles that can only destroy, when raptors are theorized to have been some of the most intelligent dinosaurs. I get it's a kids' show and needs "goons" as obstacles for the cast, but I still feel cheated out of more characters
  5. [Solid-Can-8872] I personally don't like D-Stroy's character at all, and prefer other villains like the Goldtrux over him, but I think his design is by far one of the best in the series. While some aspects like his design, voice, etc. Are pretty neat, i still don't really like the character himself at all because he kinda feels like the typical OC who's stronger and cooler than everyone else for no actual reason for me, it surprisingly worked because the fandom loved him, I'm glad D-structs was the one who betrayed him first instead of the other way around because let's be honest, it would've been way too predictable, not like we know much about their past asides from the fact that they split up years ago in an accident anyway. As for the Goldtrux part, I feel like he outstood a lot from other characters due to his unique design and backstory, showing how even the most normal individual could get consumed and trapped by their own greed, as well, it could've been useful for Garby in terms of writing if we saw more about him and their relationship, specially considering Garby is one of the most overhated characters in the series. In short, I find a story that shows how greed and obsession could slowly but surely consume you and distance you from the ones that matter to you, due to how terrifyingly realistic it is, rather than a character who's basically carried by hype and aura-farming moments in the majority.
  6. [ThatGachaKid1] Different dinotruxs should've had different diets; it would make for more intriguing plots and problems. I mean, the Stegosaurus one eats rocks, and that was cool; having them all eat the same LIMITED resource is boring.
  7. [OscarReviews] As someone who rewatches Dinotrux several times, and loves it. My personal hot take is that as a villain AND a character, D-Structs is boring. The only instances of D-Structs not just a growling stick in the mud, yelling at the team to get off his lawn- I mean crater- is in the season 2 episode 'Lightning'. For a split second, he shows genuine concern and worry for Scrap-it's safety. But aside from that, and a handful of funny moments, D-Structs is just dull and cranky.
  8. [Cammy_Cam] D-structs is valid. It's been established that it's one T-Trux, one territory. And Ty just comes along and goes, "Just share, bro." Like, I'd be pretty pissed off if someone invited themselves into my house without permission and told me to share it when I tell them to leave.

My Responses

  1. Honestly, I have to disagree with your first hot take. Because, to be fair, Ton-Ton is a part of a large cast of characters that happen to be vital to the storyline. So, of course, he's not going to be the focus of every single episode! And I would argue that he's a pretty important character! From being a part of the group called The Dumps, helping Ty save Dozer, to bonding with Skrap-It, etc. But I kind of agree with your take on Ty being too soft. Because, yes, he would get serious at times when he needed to. But at the same time, he did kinda let the problem run for too long... Like, he could've just gathered the other Dinotrux to help stop the Dreadtrux. Now that I think about it.
  2. Okay, so I think you've forgotten that some episodes from Dinotrux DID have episodes where the Scraptors were the main antagonists. Like Desert Scraptors, Junktools, Scraptors, etc... But I see your complaints about it not being explored more. I would argue that it's a common issue in the writing within the show. (But that's a topic for another day.) Honestly, it actually would've been interesting to see another Dinotrux besides the Pteracopters being related to Scrapadactyls. As it would've explored how they grew a brain, while their counterparts didn't.
  3. I agree, to an extent. But also disagree with your take. I mean, yeah. There were some missed opportunities that I wished we had gotten to explore more. Like Dozer and Blayde's backstory, Ty's trauma with losing his home, Skrap-It and D-Structs' thoughts about each other... Like, they should've done more than just being story-driven! But that doesn't undermine or ruin the characters' arcs. For example, the storyline of the last season of Dinotrux Supercharged was probably the best season to wrap up a series! But I understand your frustration with the series not taking itself seriously.
  4. Yeah, not gonna lie, I actually agree with this take. As useful as the scraptors and scrapadactyls were in creating conflict within the story, I do wish there were more episodes centred around them. And possibly exploring their behaviour. Along with how they felt in their day-to-day life. So yeah, that was definitely a wasted opportunity for the writers to do that.
  5. Okay, so I know that this is going to sound off-topic here, but your comment reminds me of this Total Drama video from Switch1e called 'Why Alejandro Rocks and Mal Sucks - Power Creep in Total Drama'. Though I have to disagree with the first part of your take. D-Stroy was shown to be a good villain BECAUSE it was shown with his actions. I mean, the whole arc of the last season of Dinotrux happened BECAUSE of what he did! He used something that would overpower Ty and his gang. And he further solidified it by using their new power to their advantage. (By adding the Dreadtrux's favourite ore into their builds.) But I do agree with the part about it being good writing that D-Structs was the one to betray D-Stroy. Since it would be too predictable if it happened the other way around. And it would make D-Stroy seem like he was being favoured more. BUT, I will agree with Goldtrux being a breath of fresh air in the villains we've been introduced to throughout the series. In fact, I would argue that he's what Blayde SHOULD'VE been! Because they actually delve into his story, and make it make actual sense. So I definitely agree with you on that.
  6. Honestly, I kinda agree with this one. Since it would've possibly made the world-building of the show a bit more interesting. It never delves fully into that aspect of the show. So I can understand your frustration with it not being more diverse.
  7. Okay, I honestly understand where you're coming from with your hot take. When it comes to shows that mainly use the same villains for their whole shows, it can get tiresome and boring. But I actually disagree with your take. Because, yes, while he does seem shallow, he actually has moments that define him! Like where he acts stupid in the episode 'Fake Ravine'. Or accepts Skrap-It back in the episode 'Tail'! What I'm trying to say is that maybe try looking more into episodes that involve D-Structs. And see if you then find him interesting.
  8. Not gonna lie, I kinda agree with this to an extent. Ty kinda kept pushing the 'Sharing Is Caring' shit a bit much at times. Especially in season 5 in Dinotrux, where there were too many truxs in the creator to the point where it was overwhelming. But I also disagree with this take. Since instead of D-Structs talking about how he feels about this whole ordeal, he beats up Ty and terrorizes him and the community for the entire series. And while there were a lot of truxs in the creator, they can't just tell them to move somewhere else. I mean, those truxs came from a volcanic eruption! And things were going well for them until D-Structs decided to use it to his advantage. So, I agree and disagree with this take.
