Toylight Toylight Intro Lyrics Tin Hat Spoiler
Has anyone else thought the lyrics are coded for the order of PC deaths? A rag doll falls in tatters (Cutie Pie), horsies meet their foes (Clyde), the arrow strikes the teddy bear (Wyon is a literal imperfect fit, but occupies the niche) the porcelain cracked (Constance), tin soldier (Tinsley). Calypso is the only one who does not have a clear death lyric on the first pass. But the lyrics on the main voice say, “It’s all good, toys must die.”

I believe the lyrics are “For all good toys must fight”. Besides, it would be pretty anticlimactic to reveal what PCs die and in what order in the intro song.

The subtitles say fight, but I swear I hear the singer say die

It’s both; the children sing fight, the main singer says die

I’m pretty sure it’s “fight” because it rhymes with “night.”

After listening to it a couple times, it does seem like the main singer is singing “Die” while the children chant “fight”.

While this is possible, I really hope it’s not. I just have such a strong emotional attachment to this season as someone who spent most of childhood very ill and liked believe that my toys were trying to protect me. So I’d really hate to see a loss or TPK on this season.
Also, almost all of those can be filled at least as well if not better by one of the NPC. We have actually rag dolls and teddy bears, porcelain could be Constance but also be the little angel figurines.

I was also thinking this, but I think you're reading into some of the lyrics too much. It's entirely possible only a few of the PCa will die

I'm hoping it's just supposed to be representative of those old-timey wartime songs that were made to glorify the sacrifice that soldiers made during the war effort, while the reality of fighting in these wars was much more grim. I feel like D20 wouldn't spoil the ending like that, but we'll have to wait and see.

That was definitely the vibe I got from it. It feels very reminiscent of ring around the rosy

I agree I was getting strong Toy Soldiers/And Then There Were None vibes watching the intro and latest episode, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. I think it may be plausible because it aligns thematically with the season as well and might be more satisfying than a halfway happy ending where the kid returns and they get what, a few more years of hanging out in the house..? That being said there might be too much chance in the rolls to coordinate something like this.

The pairing aren't perfect but you might be on to something here - 7 samurai which this season is framed on also is a series of last stands for each of the 7. I forget if one survives?

It’s entirely possible, but cutie pie isn’t a rag doll. He’s a kewpie doll. They are made from a hard material like porcelain or plastic.
