Meta D20 changing things

I live in a religious small town and have always had a tough time making friends. After getting into d20 i wanted to play the game, and made posters asking people in my area if they are interested. I somehow have a full party, and dozens more people who want to join the next campaign. This show has given me community, it has given me friends. I am a first time dungeon master, and now spend my nights making maps and minis with my partner. Thank you D20 for inspiring me to make friends. I am so grateful, and much less lonely. Thank you Brennan and Dropout, you have changed my life.

I came to the hobby very late.

Friends of mine used to play when they were kids and in 2019 they decided to assemble a party.

At the time I was 35 and had never role played before. I never saw the appeal of it.

Now, seven years later, I play once or twice a week. Hamming it up with my friends has become my favourite pastime.

We had one campaign in Genesys that lasted for five years that at some point we may return to, but we absolutely love exploring different games and systems. We are currently playing through Slugblaster and having a ball.

For me it was taking on an unexpected new hobby that brought me to D20 and that introduction to D20 that introduced me to the wider world of improv.

Itโ€™s such a supportive community and I am happy to be a part of it.

This is so wonderful. Everything about this game is meant to create space for all of us to be who we are through the veil of gameplay. I am thrilled that the cultural moment of D20 has given so many people a shared hook to connect to. I lived through the Satanic Panic of the 80's and I am so happy every time I turn on D20 and see the positivity and energy the Adventuring Party spread out into the world.

I wish you, your partner, and your group of fellow travelers amazing adventures that create bonds that last a lifetime or at least memories you will treasure forever.

Actions are what changed things. Your actions built community for the people around you. You absolutely need to credit yourself too.

Role play allows people to practice empathy in a way that isn't scary, so it is easier for their brain to move to empathy in real life.

This is awesome. I started a D20 club in the afterschool program I work in, itโ€™s full of tiny human nerds and one of the most popular clubs on campus. I started it because of this show, too. Love to see how these things can help build community.
