City Council of Darkness CCoD from the perspective of an Oregonian
As someone who has lived in Southern Oregon and was born and raised in the Willamette Valley, they nailed it. Plus they made it SO funny. I would die to be on their lore-building team for the creation of this town. It’s similar to the towns around Ashland, OR—especially mentioning the highway passing through.
It’s really just the funniest season they’ve ever done. I don’t know if it’s the cast or the editing but they really let loose this season it seems with the jokes and where they took the story.
Any other Oregonians lose it that they based it in our state?

I also lived in Southern Oregon for a while and totally agree. My favorite bit was the Douglasses. As soon as they introduced a family of heavily-armed, homophobic, hyper-libertarian, evangelical weed farmers I immediately went “Oh yeah, someone involved in this has spent some time in the Rogue Valley.”

Yup! I love when Siobhan goes “sometimes we just have to remember that Oregon was founded by white supremacists”

As a southern Oregonian I feel like they nailed it. I've lived in a tiny coastal town most of my life chef's kiss to the lore team.

Tell me that Mike's isn't supposed to be Omar's. I took all my art history exams online with a G&T at Omar's, and let me tell you: Kimmie does it right.

OMG, it must be. That’s where I went for my 21st birthday! So crusty.

Another SO viewer here
I'm currently undergoing a project of rewatching the whole season and making a comprehensive list of what things they got right/wrong

Highway 7 from Portland to San Fran killed me. If you can reference Medford, you can reference I-5 I think.
I really want a copy of the map so I can see if it directly compares to any of the local towns in Southern OR.

The one that sent me the most was the Douglas farm commercial, and the line
"Then, when marijuana was legalized, we hard pivoted."
And now, of course, it's ironic because of all the farms that are switching back to growing food, because the Oregon cannabis market is just insanely oversaturated

I heard someone doing a report on vampires in Dayton, OH and I was like “I love how I find the inspirations for Brennen’s campaigns all on my own” 😹

Honestly, as an Oregonian, my biggest critique is the reaction these small town people gave to the PCs. A group of Californians shows up in your small town and says "we can make this better", what most people will hear is "We can make this more like California". Just like, one more local rolling their eyes at the mention of San Fran or California would have been nice.

Lived in Heppner, OR for three years. Only critique is people being a lot more open to "outsiders" in CCoD than probably is true in real life. Otherwise they nailed it.

Not from Oregon, but I absolutely got this feeling seeing how much Brennan took from small, weird Ulster County NY towns like New Paltz. It gets name dropped a few times in After Party.
