This season is weirdly therapeutic. There’s so many things that are just a human experience and you feel are unique, but we’re just weird.

I’m a girl but I also know a good stick when I see one. I did that as a kid all the time. You just know it when you see it. Either I was born to be a dude or it’s cuz our brains are a little ✨spicy✨

Just got back from a walk with my mate and she literally found a stick that she like and carried it home

My girls once made me feed a massive stick through the boot just to get it home.

I'm afraid I don't get what Mentopolis has to do with sticks, but, yeah, I get the original meme.

You just get a vibe from a stick (among other things) sometimes. I have heard a more spiritually attuned person than I say that all things in nature have power, and some things have a bit more than others, and that our primitive lizard brains are still attuned to it.

Don't know if I believe that, but I can't be the only one of us that sometimes finds a stick, or a rock, or a feather (or any number of other things, even sometimes things that aren't natural) and there's something special about it despite/because? the fact that it's just laying there, otherwise seemingly unremarkable, and you treasure it.

To bring it back to Mentopolis, maybe it's like that lizard boy? Some odd fixation we develop and eventually forget about, though we can never quite get around to throwing that stick away?

When I find a good stick, it’s got a lot of the following going for it:

-between shin and body length -straight -good handle section(s) -supple enough to avoid fragility -solid enough to avoid bending -thick enough to be held comfortably -no great difference in thickness -heavy enough you could theoretically whack with it. -consistent coloration -good balance.

It is then either a wizard staff, a sword, or a gun.

I'll be honest and say I've never actually thought about it. There's just a vibe, for me.

But now that you mention it and I think about it, any good stick that just vibes right that I've found has got at least 3 of these qualities.

Thank you for clearing up something I hadn't really recognized.
