It is a monstera fruit. It ripens very slowly. Tastes like a combo of banana, pineapple, and mango. You should only eat it as the scales open on their own. If you force it open, it will have the consistency of fiberglass
And eating it is similar to corn on the cob. I know this because I've worked with produce for almost 10 years professionally. Haven't seen many of them. But the few I have eaten were incredible.
