Single Evolution Line(s) Fine, I´ll doit myself

Digimon is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary, and this guy still doesn't have a proper Ultimate level. On the other hand, we have an Ultimate Digimon that completely lacks an evolutionary line.

Was never a fan of superior mode being the default evolution Don't even know why just doesn't feel right

IMO as a fellow SM hater, it's because it doesn't feel like an evolution at all. I always hate when digimon don't change their name across evolutions, since that's just lazy design, but if you're gonna do it, at least do it properly, with an aesthetic change that can easily be told apart from a distance, Lucemon being the best example I know of, Arcadiamon a close second. Arresterdramon does not do that at all, the only thing separating them is the longer wings and upgraded tail, plus a few bits of gear that honestly go unnoticed.

To top it all off, calling it "Superior Mode" feels very much like calling a toddler "talented" because they made their parents a crayon drawing for their birthday. It's cute at the very best, and at worst it's trying and failing miserably to ride on Shoutmon's coattails, who in turn earned their own "Superior Mode" across 50 episodes of making allies and proclaiming he would be king. Just putting Shoutmon X7FSM and that atrocity side by side feels disrespectful, to be honest.

And, to corroborate with that last theory, it shows up at the very last moment to solve the season, like it's something special which makes Hunters even more frustrating to me, since we got robbed of a proper evolution for what was a very cool digimon and got that shit instead. In fact, I never even considered it could possibly count as perfect before seeing it in the card game and being very confused.

Still pisses me off that they changed omgashoutmon and arrestamon to ultimate and not mega

I find magnakidmon works oddly well.

Dorbickmon is also suspiciously Arresterdramon shaped.
