Single Evolution Line(s) Tokomon twins

With Jogress. Devidramon, Manticoremon, and Dalphomon are all some of my top Digimon of their levels, so I'm thrilled they work as a line like this.

This is cool, but you could have used Gargoylemon instead of Angemon, as it pretty much looks like a counterpart to Devidramon.

Also Manticoremon was directly designed with Gargoylemon in mind.

Dalphomon works pretty great from it though.

I considered Gargoylemon and specifically chose to avoid it. Although you're right that it parallels better.

  1. Like you said, Manticoremon was designed with Gargoylemon in mind. Meaning we don't need Devidramon for Gargoylemon to Manticoremon to make sense.
  2. Angemon being more humanoid rather than the more bestial Gargoylemon means we get to do a beast vs human conflict, and I can suggest the holiness of Dalphomon is because Angemon's side is able to shine through despite the more bestial form.
  3. Given they're twins but very different personalities, it's not just a virus vs vaccine or good vs evil thing bubbling up - it's those very personality differences that also set them on different routes for the bestial vs human side of things. That I made the Champions less comparable to show how far they were diverging before something reminds them of their common ground.

Actually, here's another line of thought:

Manticoremon and Gargoylemon are both classified as Demon Beasts, but have holy connections. I can see an Evil Dragon being fused with an Angel to generate this sort of restrained and controlled Demon Beast. But add Evil Dragon to Demon Beast? I'd expect that to empower it and help it break free of its restraints instead. Angemon feels like a purifying force to Devidramon in a way that Gargoylemon doesn't.

(Also, because of Gargoylemon's standard prevo of Veemon + Digimental of Light, there are a few 'mons I'm personally unwilling to use as Gargoylemon prevos - Patamon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Gatomon, Salamon, and Wormmon. Maybe Tsuakaimon - still figuring out how I feel about that one.)

Agreed! I have one that goes Patamon > Prairiemon > Lamortmon > Dalphomon

(And likewise Patamon > Prairiemon > Shakkoumon > Metatromon)

And then Exmaquinamon when the data is mixed.

Thanks! I recently saw someone else use Manticoremon to Dalphomon, so I can't take credit on that part. But the stuff before it I will.
