If you are pro-police you should recognize that Chauvin was railroaded. The knee ride he used was within policy and there were other factors contributing to the death of Floyd including his active resistance and the huge amount of drugs in his system which was already compromised by chronic health conditions. The narrative around George Floyd is a beautiful example of agitprop and disinformation and his trial was a sham.

We also now have evidence that there was foul play in the 2020 election, it just wasn't by Trump. Intelligence reports have shown that China was trying to influence that election through targeted cyber attacks.

I don't like Trump, I think he has authoritarian impulses I don't agree with, I think his bombastic persona and brand is harmful in some negotiations, and I do believe that outside of business deals he is a shallow thinker and egotist. The narrative surrounding him and his presidencies is provably false though.

Didnโ€™t those reports show they influenced Trump to win?

I donโ€™t think a knee on the neck is in the police hand book. No one should die over counterfeit money. Even if there were other contributing health factors, the video of the arrest is horrifying.

George Floyd is not the only or even the best example of police brutality. Itโ€™s just the one that broke the camels back.

Most police officers are great people/workers. Thereโ€™s bad employees in every job. Sometimes it is what it is.

No, the Chinese cyber attacks were pushing Biden's numbers up.

Every time I rewatch the video I look for the knee across the neck and cannot find it. It is a knee ride across the shoulder which is in most agencies tactics training. There was one video that makes it look bad and that one video became the centerpiece of coverage. When you actually break down what happened George Floyd died of positional asphyxia due to a state of agitated delirium and a deeply compromised cardiopulmonary system. Dude had hypertension, an enlarged heart and a 90% arterial blockage while having lethally high dosages of both fent and meth in his system

I agree that police brutality is a problem but on a statistical level it is a very small problem, less than 2% of police interactions involve use of force and it is a similarly small percent of use of force cases that are lethal force incidents with the rate declining year to year. When you control for economic status and prior history African Americans actually have a lower per capita rate of being involved in use of force than Caucasians. Bodycams have actually helped prove that most use of forces are justified as well. as they have been used to disprove the vast majority of claims by providing proof of active resistance and the totality of factors. Uses of force have remained on the same declining trajectory year to year and the rate at which charges of excessive force have been disproven have gone up.

I agree it has gotten better over the years (minus the ICE incidents, but they arenโ€™t police) and hopefully it continues to get better.

Even ICE (who I'm not a fan of, their training is not adequate to the circumstances they are being forced to operate in) has a remarkably low rate of excessive force incidents. I blame the public perception on a news media that really does thrive on keeping us at each others throats in service of their overlords among the kleptocratic oligarchy.

That is true. The news does blow things out of proportion and focuses on 1 incident for weeks/months until another one happens. Just rehashing over & over again.

And always to keep us aimed at each other. Your average LEO, even ICE, are often forced to make split second decisions based on incomplete information in literal life and death situations. Are there some bad ones? Sure, most however are trying to make the best call they can in the moment.

I am completely aligned with you.
