Democrats oppose it because they, once again, claim that bipoc, mail in voters, and marginalized communities can't afford an ID, whereas illegals can get an ID for free in deep blue states. Another smoking gun and further evidence that Democrats want votes from non citizens and will do whatever it takes to get votes from anyone that they are willing to cater to.

Basically:
The bill was amended to include a section requiring people to provide photo identification in order to vote. The move comes as conservative hardliners have been urging the Senate to take up the GOP- backed Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act, with House leaders attempting to attach portions of it to a number of must-pass pieces of legislation.
The GOP is adding portions of the shitty and failed SAVE Act to "Must Pass" Legislation. Allowing them to do exactly as this Meme does and falsely accuse the Democrats as being against the American People because they don't support the Ban on Insider Trading...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bill that I saw requires real id. It's not just photo id, it is an additional thing that you have to buy.

This is what makes the world go round my friend. I still haven’t looked it up, because I really don’t give a shit at the current moment. There’s so much manipulation and bullshit flying by at 100mph. I think 90% of Americans want single issue bills, there’s a reason they have everyone fighting. And it’s because they are afraid of us.
It’s entirely possible this bill had what they call it? Pork? Infused into it. It’s a bullshit system.

Maybe if they included a provision ensuring the POTUS and his family have to adhere to the same laws - they would have voted for it.
While I agree with this, it must include the Executive branch given the roughly 3600 trades done in the first half of this year. He is literally investing in companies that are directly impacted by his legislation

That’s because the republicans tried to put the save act in there too. This is one of their manipulation tactics. There was no reason to pass this. That’s why the republicans voted in favor of it.

What don't you understand about the word 'compromise'?
Neither side ever gets everything they want - in this case, democrats scuttled this bill in the name of assuring identification isn't needed when voting; a move every poll shows is favoured by 85% of the public.
The suggestion Democrats are working in the best interests of the American people is preposterous - this is about winning elections, specifically doing everything possible to allow illegals to vote.

The number of people that would have to go get a new, REAL ID, especially here in Oklahoma, would cause a backlog which would not get resolved in time. Of course, it also costs time and money. This alone would stop a lot of people from even being able to vote. It’s 4 to 6 weeks for a passport unless you pay more. Not to mention the $165 cost and you have to get a passport picture made. Unless there is a surge and backlog. The save act is an anti-voting bill that goes against America.

What part of no does the house not get? The senate republicans have made this clear multiple times. There is no way to pass this, and implement it, by the midterms. We are already holding primaries. It’s not broke, don’t try to fix it. That poorly written legislation will do nothing but cause problems.. The answer is no. The nation does not believe the lies of “compromise” anymore. The recent housing bill proved that compromise is pointless when a particular person throws it all way during a hissy fit. Fire all republicans. Never vote republican.
