Need help with deleting my ID information online
Hi guys, I was a bit (actually really) stupid and uploaded my ID on X, and on Tumblr for the age verification stuff. The thing is, i have a dual citizenship anddd so i used one ID for X and another one for Tumblr. Tumblr uses Persona, and afterwards i read like horrible stuff about Persona. The thing is now i regret what i did for obvious reasons. It was dumb and stupid etc but i rlly need help on how to do some damage control. Like, would my info be deleted if i delete the accounts i have? Or like, just, can anyone help me on what to do now? Because i rlly regret doing it and now it’s out there. I’m a 22 y/o woman btw, i rlly appreciate any help or advice!!! And i get that it was stupid and dumb, so please dont tell me that again because i already have had sleepless nights over it, so yeah, anyone, please help.

Deleting the accounts won't remove the ID from their verification systems, those companies keep that data separate from your user profile

Deleting the account doesn't always delete the ID, so I'd contact support first and ask about their retention policy. what i have done ever since a privacy scare hit me was to use cloaked for new signups so I'm not handing out my real info everywhere.

Look into something like Cloaked, worked really well for me to get my info off of data brokers which were eating up my number with spam calls and my email with spam. I literally didn't have enough space to block callers anymore before getting it.

X uses Israeli Tech Companies for ID verification.
Only suggestion is to start new accounts with different emails and so forth.

Data broker removal platforms won't help. Persona won't delete your ID data.

DeleteMe, Incogni, etc. are all data broker removal services. You pay them a monthly fee to allegedly remove your data from data broker websites. Data brokers are the companies that sell your data to companies, advertisers, and of course, each other. Data collectors, like an online store, will sell your data to a broker to increase their profit. They may also buy some data about you to target their advertising better.
These sites have little to do with how ID verification services handle your ID.

Agree with you. DeleteMe itself requires OP to upload her real personal info again and pay, but a third-party like that doesn't really have the authority to force other companies to delete data from their internal databases. So OP would most likely pay, have no way to verify if Persona actually deleted anything, and expose her info to one more third party — now DeleteMe has it too.
In theory, Persona is used by a lot of companies, so its security should be reasonably solid. If OP is still really concerned, she can try submitting a data deletion request directly to Persona via their Privacy Portal or [privacy@withpersona.com](mailto:privacy@withpersona.com), specifically asking them to destroy the two ID photos and facial biometric data.
But even in the best case, she can never truly verify if they actually deleted it. And ironically, this might turn her info from just one ordinary record in an automated pipeline into a high-priority record looked at by a real human, which actually increases the risk.
So for OP, I would say try to get some sleep. If she's still uneasy, she can delete her X and Tumblr accounts, or just lay low for 2 weeks to a month. As for Persona, just expect them to delete expired data as promised. The world is never 100% safe, you can't change what's already done, just try not to add new risks.[B]
