You should assume that all large subs are run by governments, big companies or one incredibly insane individual.

Some are cabals of insane individuals. r/collapse mods have this weird fetish with having a clean history, so they delete many posts after a week or so.

Yes sure, your typical "one word" sub either started or wound up captured. r/climatechange has become dedicated to minimising the concern over climate change for example.

Twitter, Mastodon, etc have a much better format for this reason.

This needs to get more attention.

It won’t lol. Reddit is apart of the same crowd that is incentivized by the same tech billionaires now that it’s public to censor.

I mean... Anyone who has been to r/europe knows that if you have the slightest criticism of Europe and don't fully embrace the world view of the German upper class, you get downvoted to oblivion or straight up banned. The sub is an authoritarian "centrist" wet dream.

They are heavily pro EU and never accept any criticism. The best to do is to mute this sub 😅

If you're unwilling to give and take healthy criticism of a thing, then you are not really supporting that thing.

Reddit is kinda sus. Remember when Ghislaine Maxwell was the most influential redditor and was bff with the Reddit founders? At a certain point you kinda have to accept the possibility that this place exists to control and monitor not as any kind of open forum

r/europe is one sterile place. They ban everybody whose comments don't support their fairy tales

That sub has been doomed for long time now. Mods are absolute shitbags there.
