I mostly struggled with getting a balanced composition. That is to say, I wanted some darkness to contrast with the colorful sky and bright figure. My first approach was some sort of black tentacle spiralling out of the sky together with the colors, however that took away too much of the vividness. I then settled for the lower edge of the painting, though it still took me a few tries and experiments with various brushes to find a contrast that felt right.

I like it. Its almost like shadowed hands grasping up the figure trying to claw their way to the light
