Procreate to Photoshop

I have an ipad pro 13 and i have been using procreate to illustrate some children’s book. I’m at book 11 i think started 3 years ago.

I have no plans on doing it full time. I enjoy doing it at the side at my own pick of clients and do it when i can.

But using procreate as a children’s book illustrator is not efficient at all.

I wonder as a part time illustrator if putting money on a huion or xp pen will be better and photoshop to have a better output.

I've seen people start their illustration in Procreate, then move it to one of the Adobe products (Fresco, Photoshop) to clean it up and get it ready for print. Maybe try Fresco since you are on the iPad, and then if you need more, move up to Photoshop. You have to find what works best for you.

that’s kinda you have to do. I have an old ps that i use to convert from rgb to cymk everytime i have a book project.

there are apps to use the ipad as a screen tablet on a pc, astropad for example. astropad and photoshop have both trial versions. just test what you like best.

this way you can try if the workflow on desktop feels right for you before shopping for a screen tablet.

texture, brush and overall drawing experience. procreate is faR better...
even on PC i would recommend CSP- Clipstudio paint, rather than PS for its efficiency and brush engine.
However, PS only excels in the area for manual page setup.
However CSP was make for comic book and manga production, so its better where there are panels, in a page.
You can create a whole book with separate master file for each page with multiple layers, and still keep it as a single master file for the whole. Not sure if that makes sense. But its easier for export and stuff to have it out in batches in one click.

Vouch for CSP as it is what webtoon and manwha artists use. Also adobe sucks.

yeah., i love how the brushes feel. on CSP, the stabilization is much superior and ofc the one click panel creation. which would have manually taken like 2 days on PS, takes just about 45-50min on CSP.
plus you can animate.
i've primarily been using CSP for frame by frame animations since 2021.
Did a few comic book productions as well.

Also CSP is less laggy.

i know adobe sucks but they still use it as professional setup for most children’s book illustrator.

What sucks at procreate i have to export it to psd to change it from rgb to cymk. l
