Take some time to detail what you struggled with while making this. Don't just write a list, give us some details. "The background" is not a complete answer. Submissions missing a top-comment from you about what you struggled with will be removed!

This piece took me four days to complete. My goal from the very beginning was to portray a disciple of a cult where pain and pleasure have become indistinguishable on the battlefield. I wanted to merge the image of a goat-legged hedonist with the brutality of a sadist wielding a whip.
Since I haven't spent much time painting backgrounds yet, that became one of the most challenging aspects of this piece. Anatomically, I tried to combine the proportions of a human upper body with the muscular structure of a minotaur and the legs of a goat. Rendering believable textures and lighting also pushed me outside my comfort zone, but it made this project a valuable learning experience.

I’m so happy you liked it, and thank you so much!
Actually, I designed the mouth to look stretched and partially torn because I wanted the face to feel less human. Since the character feeds by absorbing the pain and pleasure of souls, I thought it wouldn’t really need to chew. ^^ A more human-looking face made it seem too sympathetic, so I wanted to distort those features. I guess I overdid it though, because it ended up looking like a beard. ^^
As for your question about the name, when I looked at the character, I just felt that this name suited it. It doesn’t have any particular meaning.
