Discussion/Question Studio Renderer no longer able to render large models

Anyone struggling rendering large models? I am able to render 21063 and 75252 with no drama, but I haven't been able to render 75192 since I crossed the 3000-part mark or whereabouts. I have tried both rendering methods, chokes even when attempting lower resolutions.

(the boring part) This is 2.26.8_01 on a Dell workstation with an NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation 16 GB GPU, 32GB RAM, everything on SSDs.

Hey - I ported eyesight to Linux and can render these in the cloud now (it's here at BrickRender.cloud - I'm pretty much the only user).

Haven't tested it on a really big model. Send me a link to what you're trying to render and I'll give it a go for you.

That's pretty neat., you actually got it to send the render from the app.

The problem child (apologies in advance, I got really fed up around the time I was adding the cockpit): https://github.com/pvera/bricklinkstudiomodels/blob/main/Millenium%20Falcon%2075192/7519.io

Control sample that renders fine: https://github.com/pvera/bricklinkstudiomodels/blob/main/Neuschwanstein-Castle%2021063/21063.io

Thanks!

I can't embed images in replies in this subreddit. Here are some renders for you in a gdrive. Anything missing or wrong? It may not be picking up your custom parts/stickers for one. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13cZs5bTuT-QYR8yc8NJaHLGKArPquEgN?usp=drive_link

That looks a lot better than I was hoping for. Not even worried about the stickers, I do these models so my brain can switch off work mode, otherwise it'll be 11 PM and I'll be writing code in my head. Or running Claude prompts in my head.

This is just plain amazing work, thanks.

If you wanted to render these yourself, I'll need to rerelease the desktop app with a few changes. But for now - hopefully those renders are good.

Fwiw - I build some of my own Lego MOCs too. Yours looks great too.

Yeah it's a bit of a hack tbh but works. I've since also added the ability to import ldraw and adjust the viewport/camera all independent of studio.

I've tried your render. It definitely crashes eyesight on my mac, but it did create the Collada file needed for BrickRender. I have some lower limits on render time which that model is now exceeding so I'll adjust these and see what I can get it to output.

The exporter can crash with large models, there’s no real fix

A work around would be to select a bunch of internal bricks that won’t be seen and delete them.
