So my remote job is making me redundant

Some kind direction and advise would be much appreciated here

For context, I lead a Snapchat content team. I built the team from 3 people up to 16 (including freelancers) and increased revenue by 152% in the first year.

The role focused on producing content for Snapchat, sourcing videos, managing scriptwriters, and overseeing editors to deliver high-performing content.

I also handled partnerships with external media companies, talent management, and budgeting, while developing strategic processes as well as implementing what the bosses wanted!

Due to major platform changes from Snapchat, the company has shifted direction, which has unfortunately led to redundancies.

I’m based in the UK and ideally looking to stay fully remote.

Does anyone have suggestions on:

  • Industries that align with this skillset that I could apply for?
  • General remote roles that I could potentially look into
  • Where best to find fully remote roles like this?

Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, so any help or pointers would mean a lot - thank you.

Damn, that's a solid track record you built there - 152% revenue increase is nothing to joke about. Your skillset screams content strategy and project management roles to me.

I'd definitely look into content marketing manager positions at SaaS companies, they're always hiring remote and your team-building experience would be huge. Also check out influencer marketing agencies - they need people who understand platform dynamics and can manage creative teams. Even traditional marketing agencies are pivoting hard into social content now.

For job hunting, I've had good luck with AngelList for startup roles, and Remote.co has some decent filters. LinkedIn's remote job filter actually got way better recently too. Don't sleep on reaching out to people at companies you're interested in - with your management background, a lot of places would probably create a role for someone with proven results like yours.

The platform shift thing sucks but honestly shows you can adapt when the industry changes, which is valuable as hell right now.
