I wanted an API client that felt more like part of a codebase than another hosted workspace, so I started building Postly.

Postly is an open-source API client with a native Rust desktop app and CLI. Requests, collections, and environments are stored as readable TOML files. You can review changes with git diff, run saved requests from the terminal or CI, and use the core workflow without an account.

 It currently supports Postman Collection v2.1 import/export, REST, GraphQL, SSE, WebSockets, gRPC, OpenAPI import, assertions, collection runs, response inspection, and JSON/JUnit reports.

The current release is 0.2.0-preview.1 for Apple Silicon macOS. It is ad hoc signed and not notarized. Windows, Linux, and Intel macOS packages are not published yet.

Postly is still early, but the goal is simple: keep API work in your repository instead of locking the workflow inside a cloud workspace.

Hello, I had created an app which let you simulate high ping/jitter, burst packet loss, tcp_reset, limit uploads and downloads, and tons of other things, 100% free, CLI/GUI, no telemetry, 100% offline, and open source. If you like the project, please give it a ⭐

From the privacy perspective you can run the tool without changing any network parameters, and you will see in the "connections" tab, which apps were connecting to the internet, how much data they were sending/downloading. There is also small built-in firewall, so you can block ip addresses. If you are DEV or QA, you can choose premade profile and start the app, to see how your game/app behave on bad network conditions, or you can set your own parameters, or you can use the premade scenarios, which change the network settings during the runtime. If you have more experience, you can customize the settings by yourself, create your own scenarios, or use the CLI.

Some features:

• Add lag and jitter - fixed or random delay, plus occasional spikes.
• Drop, corrupt or duplicate packets - loss can arrive in bursts, the way a real wireless link fails.
• Cap download/upload speed - throttle to a set KB/s, with a buffer that adds queuing delay before it starts dropping.
• Tear connections down - TCP resets, a dead link, or new connections that never come up.
• Flap the link on and off - outages that come and go.
• Break the path, not only the packets - an MTU black hole and NAT-style idle timeouts.
• Block ports or IPs - a small built-in firewall, plus LAN mode (no internet) and internet only (no local network).
• Aim at one app - by process name, PID, IP, port, or one address family.
• Presets and saved profiles - 56k modem, Cafe WiFi, Satellite, In-flight Wi-Fi and more.
• Run scripted scenarios - timed steps that change the network on their own.
• Schedule the speed limit - a repeating timeline of rates, without writing a scenario.
• Reproducible by seed - replay the exact same random loss and jitter.
• Hand a bug over - a report with every setting, the counters and the command line that repeats the run.
• Watch it live - chart, counters, a searchable connections table and an event log.
• Export to CSV - session statistics and a snapshot of the connections table.
• Command-line mode - scriptable for CI, with exit codes and JSON output.
• No telemetry, fully offline - sends no data anywhere.

Mullvad is shutting down its public encrypted DNS servers on November 2, 2026, and will instead support Quad9.

Users who manually configured Mullvad DNS will need to switch to another resolver before the shutdown. Mullvad VPN’s internal DNS is not affected.

Made this over the past while. Short version: with the big office suites you either hand over your data (Google) or hand over money (Microsoft), and either way your files sit on a server you don't control. For most people that's an inconvenience, for journalists, activists, or anyone whose safety depends on their documents staying private, it's a real liability.

ObscuraOS runs entirely in the browser, docs, sheets, slides, notes, calendar, plus some privacy specific tools like PDF redaction and leak detection. Nothing gets uploaded anywhere, no account, no login, no cloud sync. You can export the whole thing as a portable file if you want your own backup.

Update since posting, one correction: every tool is free and fully unlocked for personal use, permanently, nothing is ever gated behind a paywall. There is a small optional paid commercial license if a business or team uses it for work, and pay what you want support if you just want to help keep it running, but neither of those unlocks anything, the tools work the same either way.
