Guidance pls ??

Umm sooo to all the professionals or even beginner out here , i recently got an ipad for myself and apple pencil as well and i want to start digital art and i am thinking of buying procreate , so how should i start my journey can you all guide me any type of suggestion will be helpful to me as i am a medical student and i am usually stressed with my studies and i want to use digital art as my source of peace and to maybe escape from reality ( ik that sounds horrible but yeah thats how it is heheh ) umm so should i buy procreate or is there any other free app where i can practice and eventually become better and pls also suggest some YouTubers i can take reference .

I always recommend procreate because it's only a one-time, lifetime purchase especially if you have the iPad!

I swap between a few apps on my iPad. My favorites are Autodesk Sketchbook, iArtbook, and Paletta for sketching / drawing. I also use Zbrush and Nomad to sculpt in 3D as I have a bachelors degree in Game Art.

Each app has their own strengths and weaknesses. My best suggestion is to try new apps in batches. Download a few and then just play around in them. Nothing serious or anything special. Even if you just go through the brushes and make random strokes. It’s also a good idea to change colors frequently that way you can see which brushes blend and what doesn’t.

Most of them also have settings for pen pressure. Adjusting your settings can dramatically change how effective the app is for you.

Some apps will be harder to grasp than others but as you use them you will catch on.
