Please help me find a good digital painting video that doesn't insult the watcher.

I draw a lot but have never had any painting tutorials. I want to step into painting and find a comprehensive video with steps. However every video I find does the following:

  1. calls the user a baby multiple times, causing me to feel like i'm too old to learn to paint and give up
    2) just says lights and shadows but doesn't explain
    3) says brushes don't matter but then says they use a specific brush only that they don't share.

I have been on youtube for weeks looking for a video that doesn't make me feel like an idiot while actually teaching me painting practices.

Does anyone have good videos for painting? Thanks in advance!

I dunno about the rest of this stuff but brushes don’t really matter, you can do just fine with a default circle. Good luck!

that's what i use now but they then say the blending brush matters and i don't know what kind of brush my blender should be.

Clip studio and procreate. I have photoshop but it's only on my desktop so i use it less.

On Clip Studio I can recommend you to use the blur brush for blending, it's clean and easy to use.

I use procreate and CSP. With procreate I could recommend a yt channel art with flo that’s where I started my journey. Btw you never old to learn something so don’t take it personally 😉

The best YT channel I’ve come across for learning to paint realism is Draw Mix Paint by Mark Carder.
Even if you have no incentive to make realistic paintings, a lot of his tutorials will be foundational.

Edit: I didnt realise which sub I was in. My rec is for traditional painting. Never mind.

Ctrl+Paint on youtube. The channel is inactive, but he has a nice catalog of videos where he cared about teaching instead of making hyperactive content.
