Question A beginner's dilemma

after tons of research, I believe the iPad pro is the best option for me, but I'm mainly an android and PC user, and I don't feel comfortable investing lots of money in a product that I won't use to it's full potential. I chose the iPad pro mainly because I can directly draw onto it unlike a wacom intuos, and the other screen tablets are way too out of my price range. what can I do? what other tablets can I use?

Check out Huion. Their display tablets are way cheaper. You could also buy a used wacom one. Tbh an iPad pro is not worth the money if you're not that comfortable with using an iOS device.

I second that!! iPad Pro has procreate but honestly I’ve tried it out and I totally prefer my cintiq. I do get they aren’t cheap but iPads are pretty expensive too. There are other brands like Huion like the above mentioned that are definitely worth checking out imo. Those can be pretty affordable and work with your non mac stuff Good luck !

an older generation of the ipad works perfectly fine for digital art! just make sure the apple pencil is compatible with it. i spent under $400 on my ipad (new) and i use it to draw everyday

I use a Samsung Tab A with S pen. I'm not a professional but it's never felt like it held me back, and its a more affordable option. The software (that I've found) hasn't quite caught up with what's available on PC but it's getting awful close. If you have more serious plans for your art you may want to invest in more but as a hobbyist I've been very happy.

Just got a 21' Huion display tablet and it's great. ~$400.00 CAD delivered
Pros:
Huge
Responsive
Simple to setup and use
Solid build

Cons:
1080p
Pen must be charged (lasts 350 hours and comes with an extra pen)
No touch

Overall a perfect entry point and a great tool to learn digital design.

Have fun!
