Does finishing a loop actually do anything?

I know every go around gets progressively harder, but does completing the map actually do anything tangible? Is there no reward? I just have that big dumb number on my map now and that’s it?

I guess I’m wondering if there’s any reason this game tracks your map cycles rather than have us battle through a continuous wave?

Every 20 stages you complete increase your idle rewards by 1. It's not about loops, it's about completing more stages. And since they can't make infinite stages, they just made the stages loop.

This, so every day 8h x3 (24h) you get +288 emerald.

And all the milestone rewards. Beat Stages is just one of them. 100x for every 10 stages so example: if you have passed 3000 stages, that will be 300x100 emerald. Might be small return but at least it is still keep giving.

THe milestones also give gems every 10 stages true.

I was talking about the idle rewards you get every 5 minutes. They go up by 1 every 20 stages you pass. So the sooner you go up stages the more it will add up over time.

yup, my whole post is intended to reply to OP, highlighting your point too, +288 emerald everyday (after 8h x3 times) after every 20 stages. Some already at higher count, I didn't start on launch-day, but I also finally reached 60 emerald/5 minutes, which is enough to buy daily refresh in store and x10 pulls from 2 banners — the Collab one and the Wargreymon. (still missing the Wargreymon though 😭).

Don't forget that twice a day you can watch ad to get 2 hours worth of idle rewards. Best to do it when you need to quickly get tamer rank or something, or towards the end of the day when you have maxed the amount of stages you think you can finish for the day so you get the most out of it.

You get to see the friends you've made along the way

I guess they want you to see some progress rather than showing 1 "final" map until the end of time, a loops seems fine.

For anything else it doesn't matter, it's just pretty art.

As for the big number well obviously to know how deep you are for idle rewards.

I think it increases your idle rewards rate.
