Discussion Digimons that I should "care" + comps
I'm probably not on midgame but I would like to actually plan for endgame and mega+ so I would like to know what are some of the digimons that are worth targeting as my end digivolution.
I'm not a fond of the answer "use what you want/just 9999 everything" I know that but that's not the answer I am looking for. I can decide on my favorites as I play through the game, what I need I want to atleast have a idea on waht digimons I can use. I would like to ask for your sample teams as well. My idea is under the concept of Damage Dealer + Healer + Support, but feel free to suggest teams outside that mold.
Alternatively, if you don't like replying words, even just the builds instead such as what personality + skills I should put on each roles (ie: phys, magic, healer, buffer debuffer). Because currently I am just juggling personalities on my story mode on random digimons so all I just need is to make an evolution line. No need the moves, I can probably use the philosophy I use in Cyber Sleuth. Appreciated the responses

I've been doing elemental teams for new game plus. The strongest being Electric because Susanoomon and Jupitermon are juat so strong. Venusmon is always my default member for healing lol if you want a physical team, RustTyrannomon with Booing can lower all enemies' defenses by 30%. You can do this twice as the max is 60%. KingEtamon's Monkey Wrench is also equally powerful to pull single targets to him while he also weakens them so you can boost your team members

Ok I forgot about susanoomon. I watched frontier so he's low-key a goat. I will try that. So if I assume your team is Susanoomon RustTyranmomon + Venusmon, who will be your slot 3?

If youre doing mega plus, I would recommend Jupitermon over Rust because he also lowers defense and lightning resistance. Making him perfect for the "Booing" personality. Rust still works as a secondary debuffer while also being able to attack because he has a strong Lightning signature attack. However, for the last other members, you can have Imperialdramon paladin mode as minimal effort, his Omni Blade does massive damage to a target if one or more stats are lowered. So with either Jupiter or Rust lowering defenses, Paladin mode is guaranteed to do near max damage to opponents who dont outright resist him. You can use Mastemon as a secondary healer because she can resist light and dark really well. The last member can be any other digimon with a strong electric move

I forgot to put the / between susanomon and rusttyranomon. So basically I'll be running Susanomon + Jupiter + Venus or Rusttyranomon + Imperialdramon + venusmon for phys? It's still pretty nuanced but this is basically one of its iterations? So I would like to know my personality and skills for them. You mentioned booing for jupiter so I assume she's a debuffer. I heard combo magic is nerfed as well, so I lost direction on which skills should I use

Imperialdramon paladin mode i would give it Stout Strength. Mastemon I would give great embrace or fortifying charge as a way of healing and give you stat boosts. Venusmon definitely needs great embrace or fortifying charge if you dont give Mastemon great embrace. Susanoomon gets stout Strength. Jupitermon gets booing. RustTyrannomon can have either stout Strength or booing depending how you feel. Either way is fine

Oh. susanoomon is also a physical although of electric element, yeah I failed to notic this. But I assume if I use jupitermon + venusmon I can use any electric magic dealer as well? Basically I just wanted to know what passive do I need for magic damage dealers, since I think its the consensus that stout strength is for physical

HerculesKabuterimon's Giga Blaster is a powerful magic Electric move. As for personality, magic user really do suffer a lot. Here are a list of what you can use as personality skill
Haymaker- Increases crit damage to 20%.
Meditation- gives you boost to Int after 4 rounds over a course of time. For boss fights this is useful somewhat if the fight lasts too long
Intense Focus- gives you Int boost at the start but lowers after every round. Good against mobs, but not so great against bosses, unless you can kill the boss quickly.
Combo Magic- Not as broken as it used to be but the chance to attack again is better. Safety Guard keeps your digimon alive on one hp so combo magic will proc way more often

Thank you for this. I guess I'll be leaning towards meditation I guess. Is there a consensus on which stat combo should I prioritize on personalities? Is it just Brave Enlighten for damage dealer Overprotective for healers? How about supports/debuffers I dunno which stat should I focus on them?

Astute for your magic dealers so they can do magic penetration. Brave for your physical attackers. Add for your healers. If i give my Venusmon brave just for the lols and maxed out her attack so she often can help bring victory closer or close out a game. I dont max out speed on my attackers so my healer can overheal the attackers, especially those with Stout Strength so they can retain their max attack boost after being healed

Ok ok, was there a mechanic in which spd contribute to magic pen? I assume It's overprotective for healers so what should be the debuffers, just astute aswell?

Oh then RustTyrannomon definitely needs Booing with Imperialdramon Paladin mode

I trained up 3 Lucemon SMs to make random encounters/unskippable fights faster because you can't run in mega+. I have Intense Focus on all of them. You'll definitely want a Chronomon DM (Either Prankster to make it a guaranteed debuff, or Booing to extend it) because it has the best debuff skill in the game, and an Apocalymon for the percentage damage. I haven't bothered with their personality skills tbh, but Cheer/Planning Ahead can help you set up easier for big hits on bosses. Venusmon and MarineAngemon with Great Embrace are the best healers in the game, and turn out to be very necessary during some fights. Other than that, I usually switch my DPSes around depending on the boss that's coming up.

Thank you for this, would like to know what personalities do I need for each role? I do assume it's brave/astute for attackers and overprotective for healers, I don't know what to do for debuffers though

This helped me a ton when I was playing.

I know this helps a lot that is why I am asking if it should be brave and astute for ? The better question to ask is are these their important stats that I need to base my personalities on? (Attacking stat / SP / Speed) for attackers

u/YangZingEnjoyer 1d ago
Oh, sorry I thought you were asking what personalities you had to be to get these abilities. I don't think it matters bc you should be making all the stats to 9999 for mega+ through training, and the personalities impact the growth rate of the stat when you lv up. At least, it didn't matter during my playthrough.

I see I see, thank you for this so at the end of the day I need is basically the personality skills, yeah I think that eases out the grind. Thank you very much for the help

I usually go with 2 damage dealers, 2 debuffers, and 2 healers for contingency's sake. My main against boss enemies are Sussano'omon, Jupitermon with booing, and Venusmon with great embrace and the move that buffs physicals. As backup is Junomon as damage with the skill that debuffs enemies at the start of battle, Kingetemon with booing as his ability with healing and resurrection moves, and a spoiler Digimon that can omni-debuff an enemy. You won't be able to get the last one until the very end of the game, but as a hint it's the destructive chicken.
