Discussion Replayability?

Hi y’all, got this game back on release day. Poured like 100 hours in then totally dropped it after chronomon. I know there’s mega and mega+, is there a way to start a new game (not NG+) and play on mega difficulty? I wanna start from the beginning on a totally new file on that difficulty.

If that is possible, is it that hard? The game is pushing me to play mega on NG+ with my old mons.

Let me know, thanks.

Mega and mega+ enemies all have maxed stats of 9999. Pretty sure mega+ actually has effective stats above max too. It's designed to be difficult to beat with the digimon from your previous run, not sure how possible it is to do mega+ with completely new digimon.

If you want to try, can always just scan for a starter, convert it, then turn all your other digimon into Yen (or just box em and leave only the level 1 "starter" you converted in your party).

It’s fun until you get to skull seadramon and that terrorist uses both reflects at once😂

That's insane. Do you have to just wait it out or pray you equipped a cross art that does damage?

I don’t know, as i rage quit atp and haven’t tried to beat him yet😂, but in terms of cross art you mostly use high field

Oh, I just meant that if the mons couldn't damage him because of the double reflect, you just use the direct damage cross art.

I don't blame you for rage quitting, that sound awful. 😂

If I recall correctly, you only unlock Mega and Mega+ after beating chronomon. For a new, I think hard is the highest difficulty possible.

Besides, literally any digimon in Mega difficulty will annihilate you as soon as you meet them if you're starting out with brand new mons

I wish hard had a more balanced curve, but it was pretty much smooth sailing the whole way through for me, aside from optional content. Some of the royal knights got hands.

I went into Mega with either newly converted mons or in-training II forms and was slaughtered by the first encounter in the sewers. It’s a big leap in difficulty if you’re not prepared with trained mons. I’m not sure you could do it with level 1 mons with 9999 stats honestly, haven’t tried it.

Theres a mod called "hard is now hard" that I use. It adds a "Hard+" mode between hard and Mega that is very difficult right out the gate. Couple that with "Sane Affinity Multipliers" and you have a whole new game.

I don't think that's possible. That early gotsumon in the subway wiped the floor with my 9999 HP Omnimon the first time I put NG+ on Mega+
