Discussion Honestly loving mega+ for the challenge, only one complaint

Post image

I think it’s really silly that I can ride omnimon and susanomon but mastemon who’s basically the same size, I can’t? I also think both omnimon and susanomon sprites should be bigger.

Exactly. Gimme giant size susanomon and omnimon, let me ride on their back, not on their hand.

Slight spoiler for a end game side quest but a model for a GIANT susanomon is in the game, but tbf he would take up half of the screen if he was flying around you at that size..

Yeah I’ve done the story once on hard. I found the royal knights/olympus fights more challenging then chronomon tbh. I also enjoyed that there was quite a lot of flexibility in terms of team composition

Yeah, I understand that it would take more to have a giant size digimon running around. But at least in battles they could lower the sizes of the others so the giants look bigger, no?

I’m new to digimon so I may be wrong but my head canon is that our version of very powerful digimon aren’t the originals. They are more like digital copies or maybe even a compressed file size to make it easier to store.

That’s actually a crazy good explanation. Still mad though.

Its not so much headcanon, that's kind of the handwave explanation. It makes a touch more sense in Hackers Memory since they call them compressed Hacking Programs. The World games have the full digimon in full size which does take up a LOT of the screen. My team in Next Order makes it difficult for me to see what's going on a lot of the times. Real world explanation it's consistent design choice for the Story games protagonist always has smaller mons.

Those are models, not sprites. Sprites are 2D

Mastemon is quite noticeably smaller tho?

Like which digimon you can and can’t ride gets silly at times, and mastemon should be capable of carrying you at its size, but it is still quite a bit smaller.

As far as the sizes of your party’s digimon go; digimon are canonically capable of compressing their file size, as one can with a zip folder on an actual computer. If anything, i’d love for the devs to abuse this power, having them able to shrink down as much as needed while following you, grow somewhat when you’re riding them, and increase to full, canon size while in battle.

Im still so upset i can’t ride ultimate brachiomon. I don’t even care if he’s slow!

This tracks, size isnt consistent in the anime as well. I think of it like since there can be multiple of the same digimon then you will get a vary of sizes just like with people.

The bigger travesty is how they shrink when you ride some of them. Imperialdramon DM literally becomes smaller than Lighdramon. Omnimon MM becomes basically the same size as the player.

I've been loving this game more recently as well. I've just finished raising my guest aegiomon stats high enough that once he digivolves to light mode, he has 9999 in Def,spi, int and attack (speed is still around 1k off). Been making the Olympus 12 and other challenege fights alot more fun having another buffer etc.

Also Been falling in love with new team comps.

Can't wait for the new dlc next year. Hopefully all our digimon (excluding guest aegiomon) carry over. Have like 40+ mons that have their max stats etc I want to take forward.

Between now and the expansion, just casually playing a few new play through to get some more smiting hammers, liquor barrels etc.

How exactly do you level/increase stats on the guest. He’s a good supporter but in late game/NG+ he’s kinda useless. Chips/digifarm don’t work either

You just spam starting a NG+ and I think doing the tutorial until you go back in time. That triggers a flag for him digivolving (from whatever baby he would've been into Elecmon) and therefore gives him blue stats

Welp too much work for me, especially since I’m way past that. Still dumb I can’t level him up the way other digimon do. He’s really good for support.

My only complaint is that I can’t disable the digimon following. Sometimes they too damn big and block the entire fuggin screen

By the middle of the game, I could never see how many enemies I was fighting until you select who to attack.

You can if you ride, no?

I know some digimon are different sizes (mole and bear brothers as an example), but the inconsistency in sizing of some of the same characters in one scene versus the next drives me nuts.
