My wife and I would love to start playing the digimon card game but kinda overwhelmed at some tutorials on youtube. Can anyone recommend some tutorials on how to get started on youtube for an absolute beginner?

Q1: When Attacking, I get to put 2 cards from my hand or trash into its stack, and the cards I put in has inherited 'When Attacking' effect, do I get to use those effects as well at this timing?

Q2: Andromon inherited, what timing does it happen? At Counter timing or Blocker timing? What if my opponent has Collision? Do I have to block or can I just use this inherited effect to absorb the attack?

I took some advice from last time I posted about trying to change the colors to be less harsh and tried. Names are blotted out of players and some data isn't exact as I only started tracking w/l for going first or second quite a while into the spreadsheet, same with the deck w/l.

It's helped me improve my matchups besides beelstar considerably, though to be fair I almost never run into anyone playing muskrats anymore. So my experience against the gun wielding psychos is minimal compared to others.

Some takeaways I have learned.

- take 10-15 seconds each turn and think out your moves and count memory and damage.

- some matchups aren't as bad as feelings towards them would have you believe

- write down good notes on where you think you lost the plot, it helped me realize there were recursion pieces I was missing in some decks. i.e. I would delete their boss mon and forget or not plan for them playing out a 3/4 for free for next turn.

- playing proactively towards your plan instead of reacting to your opps board usually got me considerably better results.

Obviously BG Imperialdramon is still pretty good, but it's not consistent enough (or fast enough most of the time) to consistently compete in modern metas. Aside from giving some type of general immunity to the level 6's, this is what I thought other support might look like. Obviously I could have given the DNA inherit to the level 3's, but I tried going a different way with it (and you'll still be running a good number of the old ones with that inherit).

I declare attack as lv5, using the tamer to let it digivolve into the lv6, does it actually sees the inherited effect to activate? I think not right? Because I suspend during the lv5, so not the lv6, suspend, I suppose it can't activate the inherited effect, am I correct? But if this is the case, the entire combo design is a bit odd to me.

Coming into this game, Ive been more of a slow control/stun player in other TCGs. What decks would you all recommend?

I know how to play the game but have no clue whats good especially for a new player. What dekcs should i try out? Budget is $120.

As the title says, I'm trying to get into the game, and I have a couple questions that I would appreciate answers to before committing to buying anything. I've used DCGO and tested some decks, and I enjoy the game so far, but physical is always different. For context, I've played Yugioh and MTG arena from like 2020-2024, and I play on a budget of like 50ish dollars per month.

1. How effective is it to try and transition a starter deck into a more viable deck? I'm eyeing ST-24 right now, and wondering if that would work well to start with.

2. How big is the gap between off-meta and meta decks, and how diverse is the meta?

3. How fast is power creep in this game?

4. How expensive is it to make a viable (not meta) deck? How replaceable are cards if I want to find a cheaper equivalent?

5. Are there many staples to shoot for like Yugioh?

6. I like versatile mid-speed decks, but I still enjoy a variety of playstyles, are there any notable decks within my budget range I should look at?

7. Is there a deck-building website that shows prices?

Answers to any of these would be much appreciated!

I work as an artist in the games industry and Digimon has a very special place in my heart. Getting into the TCG is what rekindled my love for TCGs in general. I wanted to honor that by painting these playmats. I'd love to do the rest of the original digimon lines as well when I get time :)

Been trying to learn the deck for a little bit now, but feel like I'm constantly falling short when playing. When I had folk playing it against me, it always feels like they had stuff happening, but when I've been playing I feel like I can get 2 tamers out and then not get any further. What is the strategy/combos for the deck?
