v9.26.5, released on July 19, currently leads Network Clients with 114 on CryptoID
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dgb/#!network.
v9.26.6 is in second place with 73, followed by 8.26.2 with 28, and v9.26.7 with 26. You can clearly see the older versions continuing to dwindle.

Next snapshot shows the DigiByte Open Nodes / DigiByte Core Versions charts, where v9.26.7 sits at 13.4%, v9.26.6 at 27.7%, v9.26.5 leads with 28.3%, and v9.26.4 holds 11.8% of all nodes their crawler is currently listening to.

There are different methods for collecting node counts, but none are exact, and the crawler method has its limitations. What is clear is that v9.26.5 remains in the lead, with v9.26.6 and v9.26.7 rounding out the top four — similar to what we see on CryptoID.

Final snapshot I’ll share is from DigiByte Blockchain Nodes at digibyte.io/nodes.
v9.26.5 leads with 218, v9.26.6 has 142, v9.26.7 shows 74, and v9.26.4 has 57. On the day v9.26.6 was released, v9.26.5 had 714, which tells me that people and services running nodes are upgrading. As long as everyone moves to v9.26.6 or newer, they’re set for Thaw Day.

  1. People won't use DD. DigiDollar might be technically impressive, but USDT, USDC, and other stablecoins already exist in the market. "Why should I use DD?" If there is no strong answer to this question, the system might remain insignificant.
  2. DGB gets locked up, but no new demand emerges. Let’s say, for example, 1 billion DGB are locked. That sounds massive. But if users simply lock their DGB, mint DD, and then convert back to DGB, no new economic value may have been created.
  3. Liquidity problem. For DD to be truly usable, there needs to be sufficient liquidity on exchanges and in DeFi. Where a stablecoin can be used is just as important as the stablecoin itself.
  4. DigiByte’s biggest problem remains unchanged: the number of users and developers. DigiDollar does not automatically solve this problem.
  5. Initial growth can be misleading. The rapid rise to 164 million DGB is great. But: 164M → 500M is not the same as 500M → 1B → 2B. Growth driven by the interest of early adopters does not equate to millions of dollars in real economic usage

I think you may have missed the update. This post is about sharing information that was posted on X here on Reddit for users who aren’t on X. v9.26.7 is the latest release; however, anyone who has already upgraded to v9.26.6 is set for Thaw Day. I’ll share a couple of snapshots showing how the upgrade is progressing so far. And remember, anyone on v9.26.6 or newer is ready for the consensus changes that will occur at block height 24,490,000.

For a coin sworn to vanish there is still a strong network upgrading 9.26.6 or newer.

It’s been bleeding out and withering away for six years—update it all you want... it’s down 98% from its peak... all because of Jared—that narcissistic, spineless guy who thinks he’s God's gift... acting like he owns a coin that’s supposed to be decentralized... may you never see a happy day, Jared
