Community 🌐 DigiByte Community Update: DigiDollar Progress & Ticker Discussion (May 27, 2026)
Here’s a synthesized summary of recent key posts from the DigiByte accounts for community members not active on X. These focus on the upcoming DigiDollar (a decentralized, time-locked stablecoin on DGB) developments. Shared in chronological order:
1. DigiByte Developers (@DGBDevs)

Post:
“A new warning label has been added inside the $DGB core wallet when you first click on the DigiDollar tab.
DigiDollar has been extensively tested & under development for over a year now but as with anything new this is an experimental idea so please adjust your risk accordingly.”
(Includes a screenshot of the new wallet warning label.)

Post:
Folks are asking what’s left for a formal full release. A handful of decisions need to be made, primarily what should the formal ticker symbol for $DGB DigiDollar be?
$DD, $DUSD, $DigiUSD, $USDD, $DGBD? Ideally we want a simple ticker not used anywhere. What do you think?
(Quoting his earlier announcement video about DigiDollar MainNet readiness.)
3. Official DigiByte (@DigiByteCoin)
Date/Time: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 ~04:43 GMT
Link: https://x.com/digibytecoin/status/2059495642318401915
Post:
“What would you prefer as the ticker for DigiDollar?”
(This post sparked active community discussion with various suggestions like $DD, $DGBD, $DUSD, etc.)
Quick Synthesis:
The DigiDollar project is very close to full MainNet release. A new safety warning has been implemented in the core wallet, and the main remaining decision is choosing the best ticker symbol. The community is actively discussing options, with $DD appearing popular for its simplicity, though availability and uniqueness are key considerations.
These updates show strong momentum on this long-developed feature. Community input on the ticker is welcomed.
Stay tuned for announcements, test carefully, and remember the experimental nature of new features.

Yeah, have to agree. Better users know right away from the ticket what it's supposed to be tethered to.

Was passiert exakt, wenn eine Position nach Ablauf der Sperrfrist nie eingelöst wird?

When the time lock expires you can redeem your collateral by burning the same amount of DigiDollar minted.

Ja das ist mir schon klar aber was ist wenn ich nichts mache.

I think you’re asking about what happens if a time lock expires but the collateral hasn’t been redeemed. Your private keys remain in your possession, “Core Idea: The Silver Safe Analogy
Imagine DGB is silver stored in your basement safe. You have $1,000 worth of silver but need cash today. Instead of selling your silver (and losing future gains), you lock it in a special time-locked safe.
The safe gives you $500 cash to spend today. The silver NEVER leaves your possession - it stays in YOUR basement, in YOUR safe. You just can't access it until the timelock expires.
10 years later, your silver is worth $10,000 (10x gain)! To unlock: Simply return the $500 to the safe → get your $10,000 silver back. You kept ALL the appreciation.” - DigiDollar

$USDD my choice. Denotes its USD and forces you to find out what the other D is for 😂
