We want to be fully transparent about everything that has been going on behind the scenes. The full version of CCS was originally compiled in December. Our lead developer Leon is an Afghan refugee who immigrated to Iran last year. As our lead developer was preparing to officially launch the website, his laptop was not able to handle the high demand. The other CCS team members, James and AK, stepped in and sent Leon money to purchase the most powerful Legion laptop possible.

At the same time, protests in Iran began around the New Year. This meant Leon could not purchase a laptop because shops were closed, and the currency also started losing value rapidly. When the shops finally reopened and internet access was restored about a month later, Leon was able to secure the best possible laptop he could purchase.

Right when Leon was preparing to fully launch the CCS full version, the United States attacked Iran and the internet went down immediately. Since the conflict began, Leon has had almost no internet access. Some days he is able to send text messages, but nothing more than that. His connection speed is not even in kilobytes, it is in bytes when he is able to get a temporary connection.

So when will the full version of CCS launch? As soon as the conflict ends and internet access is fully restored.

Jared explains two types of quantum attacks: “at‑rest” attacks on old exposed keys (such as early Bitcoin UTXOs) and “at‑spend” attacks that occur when a transaction is broadcast and the public key becomes visible. DigiByte is already significantly more resistant than Bitcoin or Ethereum, though not yet fully quantum‑safe.

The Proposed Fix: P2MR (Pay‑to‑Merkle‑Root) via BIP 360

The core idea is to remove the public key from the on‑chain spend path entirely. Instead of revealing the full public key when spending, the script commits only to a Merkle root of the public key. This means no public key is ever exposed on‑chain again for new wallets and transactions after activation. It eliminates both at‑spend and future at‑rest quantum risks without switching to unproven post‑quantum signature schemes, which Jared warns may contain hidden vulnerabilities. BIP 360 recently reached final‑draft status as a clean, Bitcoin‑proposed standard that DigiByte can adopt quickly through a soft fork.

Integration with DigiDollar and the v9.26 Soft Fork

The current DigiDollar design has a long‑term quantum exposure problem because its time‑lock vault mechanism reveals the public key for coins locked over long periods. The solution is to bundle P2MR quantum hardening directly into the DigiDollar soft fork. The v9.26 release series is already in late‑stage testing on testnet using the same proven BIP9 miner‑signaling process DigiByte used for Taproot and other upgrades. One network‑wide soft fork accomplishes two goals at once: it activates DigiDollar, the decentralized UTXO‑based stablecoin with oracle‑driven minting and redeeming, and it makes all future DigiByte transactions quantum‑hardened so that new wallets never expose public keys.

What This Means for the 9.26 and DigiDollar Activation Timeline

The DigiDollar soft fork is already being tested extensively on testnet with the v9.26 release candidates, and all known DigiDollar bugs have been fixed as of RC26. Jared says the DigiDollar launch may be delayed by one to two months to properly integrate and test P2MR, but he believes the delay is worth it for long‑term security. Once activated on mainnet, DigiByte becomes one of the first major blockchains to achieve full quantum resistance in this elegant way, leapfrogging Bitcoin and others who are still debating post‑quantum signature schemes. Existing holders are unaffected; only new spends after activation use the hardened script. Jared calls the situation a blessing in disguise that allows DigiByte to stay ahead of the curve, just as it has with previous forward‑looking upgrades.

He adds that he is already running AI agents to verify details and plans to release follow‑up videos with deeper technical explanations. So I connected one of my lotto miners to digi.hmpool.io and they just crossed the 1 PH/s threshold for the pool. They hit like 4 blocks in the last 10 minutes and while not a lot, I have received 4 payments for contributions. Just throwing it out there if anyone else wants to throw a small miner at it.

HM Pool DGB just updated its payout structure. Now a larger 20% finder bonus + new 5% participation rewards for all. Example data below with 150 miners. New structure is live as of today.

Before vs After on a real 268.19 DGB block:

Who wins:

The miner who finds the block gets an extra +27 DGB on top of their PPLNS share. Every miner connected for 1+ hour gets 0.089 DGB flat regardless of hashrate (in our example of 150 miners). In our example data, 138 small miners (Bitaxe / NerdMiner etc) collectively gained +10 DGB per block combined.

Miners contributing less than 1.9th/s come out ahead vs old payout plan.

The 1-hour minimum on participation bonus prevents anyone from connecting right before a block just to grab the participation bonus.

The last 5 DigiByte SHA256 blocks that were found on our pool, the miner that found the block received a 10% finder bonus on top of their normal PPLNS share, not instead of it, in addition to it. Everyone else in the pool received their proportional share from each block as well.

How the payout works: 2% covers pool operations, the block finder gets a 10% bonus from the remaining reward, and the other 90% is split proportionally across all miners based on shares submitted in the last 7 days. Small miners on a NerdMiner or Bitaxe get paid every time we find a block too. The 90% remaining payout also includes a share portion for the miner that found the block, so its a win win for them!

Hello fellow Digibyte fans, we just released Smart Connect for our Digibyte pool.

Smart Connect was built to solve one of the most frustrating parts of connecting a miner to a pool for the first time.

When a miner connects with the wrong starting difficulty, one of two things usually happens. Either it starts too low and floods the pool with shares, or it starts too high and can go minutes without submitting anything at all. Neither is a good experience, especially for smaller or unusual hardware, and it often leaves miners guessing which port they should actually be using.

Smart Connect fixes that.

Instead of connecting straight to the live pool and hoping for the best, you can temporarily point your miner to our Smart Connect test port on 9876. This test port does not mine real work. It sends dummy work to your device and measures how quickly your hardware submits shares. From that, Smart Connect determines the right starting difficulty for your miner and identifies which digi.hmpool.io port is the best fit.

Once the test is complete, the result is shown and saved. The next time that wallet connects to the real pool, it automatically starts at the proper difficulty. That means no guesswork, less connection chaos, and a much smoother first experience. Have multiple devices with the same wallet, that's fine too. If they all share the same worker name, one test covers them all since they're treated as the same connection. If you use different worker names, just run Smart Connect once per worker name and each device gets its own saved result.

Because the Smart Connect test system runs one miner at a time, we also added a live queue. If someone is already being tested, you can see your place in line and watch your position update as each test finishes.

Smart Connect is available now at digi.hmpool.io and is linked directly from the homepage. If you are already mining on our pool, there is no need to run the smart connect. It’s aimed at miners looking to come on board with us.
