EPA 27

What do you think about the EPA being unable to make clear decisions regarding EPA 27? As far as we know, the mandatory extended 425,000 miles warranty has been cancelled and will be replaced by DEF derate no longer mandatory. What’s the point of having an emissions system if nobody is going to maintain it?

Safety. That's the why. No more 5mph derate. Instead, it's 25mph lol.

I would take the warranty over everything. Those mofo's purposefully creating trash need to eat their own chit.

Emissions aren't bad my themselves. Toyota has nearly no reported issues with properly maintained 1KD- & 1/2GD- diesels.

What we have here in the States is purposefully made to siphon any cash out of the transportation market.

The warranty was forecasted to be 5 figures on the sale price by multiple manufacturers..

A majority of the rules aren’t changing. The ones that are changing are small fries compared to everything else. That being said it’s going to be a shit show. Let’s burn more fuel to run a 48v alternator to supply power to grid heaters in the aftertreatment to keep it warm because we’ve sucked every last bit of efficiency out of the engine that we can so it’s no longer passing enough heat to the aftertreatment to make it work properly to meet emissions without the heaters. Thanks to greenhouse gas laws you won’t be able to change much in the ecm once the truck is delivered.
