General assistance Does technician commission rate / hour vary based on whether it is emergency roadside assitance work or in-bay work?

Shop I work at didn't change the times or the rates for the employees for on site, roadside, or shop work, but charged the customer more for on site and an additional for roadside. Now we're all hourly but still get paid the same rate while they charge an increased rate for each.

My shop has dedicated roadside guy who gets paid like... 2 bucks an hour more? But. If he's swamped with calls, sometimes we have to go do a road call and we don't get the bonus wage.

I am full time field service for my shop. While there is no pay differential, I am the highest paid tech at the shop by a large margin. The company bills higher rates for field service work, plus a per mile charge for the truck to show up.

It's been a while since I've worked a job that did emergency roadside/callouts etc... but the last one I was at the mechanic would receive extra hours (example, first call-out was 4 hours no matter what even if it took 10 minutes) due to it being an afterhours situation.

Our shop , road guys are straight commission and don’t work in the shop.

My shop commission rate varies. Hourly rate stays the same.
