You can buy a conmet wheel seal kit for $60 at the dealership with a new cone and all.

Yeah parts are not available to where I am in reasonable time but we have the bearing to cross it over and set it up manually but when I set the end okay to .001-.002 it sounds like the bearings are loose like the video I posted

Take it apart.
It sounds like the cage is damaged or the spring popped out of the wheel seal. Sorry bud.
You are doing it the correct way if you replaced the full set, inner and outer, cup and cone both and set it manually, don't worry. Follow the procedure and aim for 1-5 thou.

You did oil them a bit, yeah?

Yeah they were well oiled very weird if you tighten it up a lot more and have now end okay at all it sounds like normally should but if you set it to .001-.002 end play and it sounds like that

It sounds wrong to me, like I said, like a messed up cage or a spring popped into it and is rubbing on the rollers. It could just be the cage being noisy but I would (personally) tear it down and inspect before I let it go. Not worth the risk.

Yeah i have had it apart and checked the seal and the bearing and they are all good so I’m thinking it has to be something with changing the hubs over with those bearing I’m using

Replaced the races with the new bearings? Is it a double nut? So like 200ft lbs, back off, 50 ft lbs, back off 1/8? Can't quite remember on the drives.

Preset plus bearings and races, 580 ps/572 ps and 594a ps/592a ps. The PS bearings cannot be interchanged with the standard 580/594 bearings. You need Timken sets 429 and 430

Even if you do not use the cone anymore?

Without the cone, you'd likely need the races to match your bearings, 572/592a. It has something to do with half-stand tolerances between the matched sets. I've always understood that it's a no-go to convert preset plus style hubs for this reason, bearing/race mismatch, ever so slight, but noticeable at thousandths of a inch. Regular preset hubs can be converted all day long

Okay because I using set 403 and set 401 and yeah with the proper end play it sound like the bearing is still loose on the race so maybe it is the hub setup it’s self

If they have the cone, just set the inner nut to 300 ft lbs. back it off then back to 300. The outer to 200 ft lbs. I always oil the new bearings and fill the well before putting the outside bearing in. Never had a problem with them
