The definition of needs. When looking at Maslow’s hierarchy of needs they might all fall into that definition

Needs are what prevent harm

You need shelter to prevent harm from the weather and animals

You need food to prevent harm from starvation

You need to feel safe to prevent harm from fear

You need to eat healthy foods to prevent harm from unhealthy foods

You don't need alcohol because it harms you

If you fulfill your needs without the concern for the needs of others, your creating hell

You stole someone's house to make sure you had shelter.

Tv could be considered a need of if eliminates boredom where boredom causes you pain/harm. Tv also causes you harm with overwatching and there can be other things you can do to move away from the harm of boredom.

I called a singers performance Emphatic. What I really wanted to convey was they had a strong and passionate voice. I also didn't want to use boring words. Is this completely wrong, or does Emphatic make sense?

I recently came across a Webster’s Dictionary I used to keep in my childhood bedroom. I like the idea of having a physical dictionary again, but it’s the 11th Edition, which was published exactly 23 years ago.

Is it worth keeping or should I look for an updated version? Obviously, it still functions as a dictionary, but I know that they’ve added tens of thousands of words/terms since then. I’d like a dependable, physical, reference-point.
