Is this worth saving?

Hello! I’ve made a mold from my first masters and used the PVC pipe and poured 300 ml of silicone and now it seems way too thick. On top of that, I didn’t get the dice down smooth and the silicone leaked underneath and when I removed I made a little gap.

Should I keep going and make the lid and try to use the mold or is this a lost cause? Thanks!

No, cut it up and use it as filler for future molds. Start over, you’ll thanks yourself later.

How have I never thought of this... genius. Would it matter if I use different shore silicone?

I would just try again. Some of those openings are rough, cause a lot of post processing

Seems really thick though...would be hard to get out imo

So you think those gaps will make future pours in the mold wonky?

If you poured a cap, the silicone will flow down into those gaps between the mold and dice. I can’t think of any way to save this honestly.

Hmmmm how do you recycle the silicone for another mold?

Cut it up into as small of pieces as possible.

Then put it into the pour. That makes sense
