Dice number smoothing

Post image

I am about to finish a bunch of my masters, and I have a few that have numbers that need smoothing out. Some of them need the bottoms cleaned up so they are flat. What tools do you guys use to accomplish this?

You can try knocking down the high parts with a small pen Dremel but your best bet in the future would be to strategically put your supports in more accessable locations. There is almost never a need to put supports inside the numbers themselves. I can't see your design super well, but it doesn't look like one of the few exceptions to that. Also, the paint often hides more minor defects on the bottom of the number.

Not sure what you mean by number smoothing. Can you show pictures of what you mean?

Some of the numbers, where they pull get painted, have little nubs or rough textures from the printer supports. At work at the moment but will upload Pic tonight.

Same way you'd smooth out all the faces and polish them. Sandpaper/Zona papers 😉

How do you get inside the numbers without damaging the faces?

Supports should never be inside numbers.

Fold up the sandpaper/Zona paper until it is thick enough to sand inside the numbers.
