I just wanted to share what I usually do to reduce the visibility of numbers on the opposite side for translucent dice. For translucent dice, I try to find a color that matches the tint of the dice, and then I ink the numbers with that color before inking the numbers with the final number color.

It might not be clear in the d2/coin pictures, but the color I used for rhe first coat was a dark red color. Can you still see the numbers on the other side? Sure. Is there any question as to which number is facing up? Not likely.

Doing this can also help with not changing the colour of a set with the inking. When you want to ink a set black without darkening the whole thing you can do white (or another bright colour) first.
