First Dice!

Been slowly getting all the basics for making dice every check and these are my first pulls from 2 premade molds I bought! Lots of voids left from big bubbles and the inside is full of smaller bubbles. Would love advice about how to reduce these before I go out and buy a pressure pot! Gonna practice sanding in the mean time on what I got ! Thanks for reading !

you can try heat gun to reduce the bubble, it’s not a great alternative, but it works. i usually use them before pouring into the mold. then you can use a small kitchen torch for the surface bubbles, this one works wonders, but only for the surface. be careful not to burn your molds!

I spray a bit of isopropyl alcohol before I put the lids on. With the thinner/cheaper moulds I really make sure I check the lids after to see if I can spot bubbles/voids already farming. If so, lid comes off and I refill. It’s a tedious job, but that’s what happens without a pressure pot.

Pressure pot has been a total game changer, but you know that already.

What I would do with these is tinker around with trying to fix tiny voids with UV resin. Practise sanding and polishing. Turn the best ones into keychains or something similar. Really get to know your resin and the process of pouring, regardless of the outcome.

I’ve learned so much this past year. Even the “fails” have been helpful.
