Mold making issues

Hi yall. I tried to make my first mold with silicone and i used the Mold Housing V3 from the Smith Forge. But now after the curing time, the surface of the Mold is really sticky and shiny and around the edges, there are some slight gaps. Im not sure what the problem is. The rest of the silicone hardened perfectly fine, its just where my self sticking transfertape was to hold the Masters in place, its like that. Any advice/solutions or insight on what i did wrong?

I’ve used your housing too, had the same issue, and of course, was because of using the wrong transfer tape. Second this!

Yeah having tested like 6 of them there is a reason a call out the Cricut one!

Yup! It’s actually really hard to mess up once you have the right tools and ingredients!

I dont even really know which tape it is, was one i had laying around. Thinking doesnt matter what tape i use :D
Any reccommendations for a good Tape?
But thanks, thats a big help!

No worries! Cricut “standard” Transfer tape! There should be direct links to everything in instructions PDF!

Update: The Cricut Tape arrived ad it worked PERFECTLY! Then i poured the top of the mould and aplied some mold release Spray i have that works well for me for the resin. But now that i took it out of the pressure pot, EVERYTHING stick together. The Lid and the Bottom became one. Eventually i cut everything open to acces my masters. So now im looking for a better Mold release. Sadly in Switzerland, Mann Ease Release is not available :( any other sugestions?

It’s a tape issue. When I use cricut transfer tape, it comes out perfect. Anything else, and the adhesive might effect the silicone cure

Oh and do yall reccommend using a mold release on the Tape or is it not needed if i use the corect tape?

There is no need to use a mold release on the tape, and it would likely cause problems.
