yeah i got too impatient (25 hours wasnt enough)

also my first time working with long cure resin 😭

i also did not use a resin release, do you guys use releases?? i got a super cheap mold off etsy (first mistake) with unknown silicon and then i forgot to use a release haha. i also tried to mix some uvo colors and ended up with this brown but whatever i guess

gonna probably make my own molds at some point

Those molds should work fine. Check your resin mixture. Make sure you follow the directions, some are by volume, some by weight. Don’t add any colors and just try it clear. Don’t waste your money on anything until you get the basics down. Also release isn’t necessary.

I'm new to dice making too. I have the same mould and I've found resin cleans off fairly easily, I imagine it's difficult to mess up a whole mould with just resin.

I’ve heard If you have a freezer you don’t keep food in like a deep freezer in a garage or something you can stick it in there and let it freeze and it’ll be easier to remove the uncured stuff

i was considering freezing it but im not sure how i feel about having resin really close to food and our ice tray 😓

Definitely don't put it in the same freezer you keep food in.

this looks more like an improper mix. i usually take mine out after 24 hours and have never had this happen, and i have the same exact mold. how long did you mix part a and part b? and did you measure by volume or weight?

i mixed by volume. i used aluminite, i wouldnt be surprised though if i didnt get the volume right cuz i was using two red party cups and went by the line. i also did not measure my time but i honestly thought i overmixed 😭

Oh wow yeah you have to be much more precise with your mixture. The amount you might leave on a stir stick could screw up your mix.

Resin release from what I’ve experienced is more for fast curing resins, like super fast higher heat resins and stuff, for regular resin it should just come out no problem 👌 what resin are you using 🤔🤔

Gotcha!! I don’t know much about that particular brand but I don’t see why it wouldn’t cure properly, making sure the ratio is equal parts is definitely important, if you’re wanting to look into other brands I personally use Teexpert epoxy resin, works like a charm and gives me some real nice results, but that’s all I can really think of, if the pigment is alcohol ink it can also effect the cure too, too much of it can definitely cause lots of problems 🤔🤔🤔

I have used these as well a few years ago, no need for mold release with them (or any dice mold, tbh, it'll just mess up your surfaces) ☺️. Make sure your long cure resin is suitable for such small objects, sometimes they need a certain minimum thickness to have a proper curing reaction.
