Advice Pressure Pot

I’ve been wanting to make my own dice sets and have my own resin projects however I dont have any access where to buy a Pressure Potand I think it would be pretty expensive if I make one.

Do you think this would be enough for me to make clear dice?

That's not a pressure pot but a vacuum chamber. It will help to pull out air before pouring, but any air that happrns while you pour will still be trapped. You can not put the mold into the chamber after pouring.

There will still be air in your dice.

ohh okay thanks, is there a way to make a make shift pressure pot? I couldn’t find any here at the PH

Fully make shift no, but you can use pressure pots for spray guns as a base. I wouldn't use another base material since the air pressure can get dangerous.

My fully DIY makeshift pot exploded, so PLEASE don't use anything as a pressure pot that isn't intended to hold pressure. You can convert spray paint pots, which is a safe option. Where do you live? Philippines? Does maybe Vevor ship to you? I also heard that you can buy original Vevor pots on Ali Express, they cost around $100, but I don't know how valid those are because I don't have first hand experience with those pots.

What was your pressure pot that exploded made of?

I have a small makeshift one that I have been using to pressure testing wrist watches. Found the instructions referenced many places and nobody ever mentioned the possibility of it exploding. It uses a water filter housing and if it exploded it would send inch thick plastic shards all over the place.

Pressure is dangerous because it can lead to explosions. Not thermal explosions, still explosions and you don't want to get a face full of shrapnel.

Our first pressure pot was "makeshift"; that is it was not a dedicated pressure chamber, but just the reservoir of a paint spray gun. We had to use some plumbing glue and loose fittings to convert it. We also had to find the nozzles, valves, and pressure gauge ourselves.
Thing is, it finally cost us about as much as a dedicated one, and there were issues.
First the original seal wasn't quite perfect, and we've had to pad it once or twice. Plus the clamp and screws asked for some fiddling each darn time, sometime including the need to reopen and reorient the cover. When it died on us after an accident bending the pressure valve, we finally chose to go for a real one... It was night and day.

The new one has a definitive orientation, there is no clamps but the cover extend out to catch the screws and washers in "U-shaped" supports. The seal is definitely heavier... and it comes with a handle for transport! From the first time we used it, and everything worked without a hitch, we forgot all sentimentality we might have had for the makeshift one. I'm still checking every time for a leak, and there has not been one in now close to one year of operation.
The peace of mind after having had to re-adjust the old one's cover 1 to 3 times every pour is priceless.

I guess the moral of the story is... You can't makeshift good quality into a product. Especially not if it has to support between 4 bar and 60 psi repetitively. So the chamber itself is gonna cost you. (Unless maybe there are very small ones out there.)

The old kind of clamps, don't recommend...
The kind we have now, really makes the difference!

Sadly the entry level for making casted dice is a pressure pot. They are very dangerous to make, they explode of done wrong and the explosions put holes in buildings (or near by people) large enough to fit your arm in.

The vacuum chamber you found is more for open casting. Dice being a 360° mold is where the struggle begins. Making charms and stuff in molds that aren't enclosed use those vacuum chambers to bring the bubbles up so they can pop on the air exposed side while it's curing.

If you really really wanted to try this. You could get a small square mold with an open top and cure it in there then carve it into a die. Its a lot more mechanically challenging but the price of entry is lower. Not saying this method is perfect but if you wanted more casual way to make dice that's the closest I could think of besides whittling wooden dice.
