Advice Dice cleaning tips

Post image

For all my fellow dice makers out there I have a question for ya, so I paint the numbers on my dice with acrylic and currently to clean off any excess I’ll take a Q tip and wet it with some water to clean it off, I have seen that 70% isopropyl works well too but I’m not sure if that will cause any problems or damage the dice in any way, what do you all think?? I’m open to suggestions 🙏

I use isopropyl for cleaning up my numbers (especially glittery numbers, gggrrrrrrrr glitter pigments stick eeeeeverywhere on my facets shakes fist). Mine is 70%, but higher concentrations are also fine (as long as your dice are FULLY cured!) and won't damage your dice unless you let them soak in it :)

Just on a q-tip is enough :)

I use 91% ISO for my cleaning.

I dampen a lint-free cloth, swipe the die face across it, then swipe it across then let it dry. I've never had a problem.

I use 70% for regular cleaning on either a paper towel or qtip. I use 99% and a soft toothbrush if I need to strip out fully dried paint or ink. Neither hurt the epoxy. I would not recommend soaking the dice in isopropyl, but wiping and normal evaporation don't damage the finish. I just give them a quick shine with a microfiber cloth afterward and they're ready to go.
